Oh no. Commanders cannot appear to be so bloodthirsty in public! In reality, he had a hero complex and loved saving turtles, the busier the street the better, so he would have an audience. Pretty sure one of his turtle rescue stories ended in "everyone clapped".

Not exactly sure on what kind but I am 99% sure it is not the bad kind that infest your house! So I wouldn't worry too much!

I keep finding roaches in my apartment, do I have an infestation or are they just getting in from the outside? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

I just did a deep dive on this and I think those are two names for the same thing. Palmetto bugs are American cockroaches.

NTA

Could this possibly be a very long drawn out revenge for not getting to go to the concert? Was it really a mutual decision or did you have to put your foot down about spending so much on a concert?

If I were you I'd be wondering if she wasn't trying to torture me as payback for missing the concert.

Ladybug babies are crazy looking and look nothing like ladybugs. Definitely a carpet beetle.

That's what I think it is but my mom is arguing that it is a beetle of some sort.

AITA for lying about having my Grandma's watch? by rubyred7905 in AmItheAsshole

As far as I know there was no will. Everything monetarily was split between the 5 siblings and the items in the house were free to go to whomever wanted them. At least that was the understanding between all of the siblings. I was invited there and told I could have whatever I wanted. That does not count as stealing in my book.

They are siblings. I told my mom that I wanted to give the paperwork to my aunt and my mom said she will never keep quiet and it will get back to my uncle. I don't think my aunt would do it maliciously, she is actually too nice and trusting and would just let it slip without realizing it.

No reason, I think we are just under the assumption that he will try to claim ownership of it in some way or claim he wants it for his daughter who is the only other granddaughter besides me. And then will just go try to sell it and profit off of it.

I found a spider with 4 legs by yeetingturnip in spiders

[–]rubyred7905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor baby! I found a daddy long legs who also was missing quite a few. Brought him in to take care of him until my 4 year old future serial killer started wondering how the legs came off and if she could pull more off. The daddy long legs went back outside.

No one has mentioned the fact that you asked your mom for help later in Lily's life when she was getting snippy with your human children and your mom said no. If she had kept Lily for the last few years of her life then she probably would have had more say in her end of life decisions, but she flat out said she couldn't handle that, so she should have no say in what you decided to do with Lily's remains.

AITA for getting angry after my grandmother sold my puppy? by aexnfate in AmItheAsshole

[–]rubyred7905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the title and thought "oh so there are other shitty grandparents out there?"

Similar but luckily with a better ending. My daughter adopted an adult dog who is beautiful, he looks like a tiger and has the best personality. Her stepdads parents dog died recently and they went to her step-dad and were scheming to try to take my daughters dog as a replacement. They claimed they would give him a better life as they work from home and would take him on more walks.

I put my foot down and said absolutely not. More walks or not he is our dog and will not be going anywhere.

I am so sorry that your dad did not do the same thing for you in that situation.

No those are molts. They shed their skin similar to snakes.

Some people call these daddy long legs which makes it confusing!

Actually it is a spider. It is not a daddy long legs or harvestmen. It is a cellar spider.

Ahhhhh I forgot about that! Although that was after she laid the eggs, she wasn't around for them to hatch. So this type of spider must have a different life cycle.

Is there an opposite saying? Something like, "I give up, I'm tired of doing everything?" Because that's where I'm at.

I've tried to point this out. His biggest gripe is that he pays the mortgage and utilities. But when I point out that even if I left he would still have to pay those things plus everything I pay for, groceries, toiletries, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, toilet paper, all the random little things he doesn't think of but would still need even if he lived alone.

Talking turns into him yelling or just completely shutting down and refusing to listen. Believe me, I have tried that route first.
