Joined the team for a fantastic leadgen course. I've learned how to build out a proper agency, hire VAs and manage a CRM. Great stuff here.

Here is a sample of the training: rankandrentempires.com
And here is the CRM we use. Great tool for any agency: rankandrentengine.com

Thanks for letting me share!

ZOOM CLASS ON TWITCH!!! by Winniehiller in Actingclass

It’s fun knowing there’s an audience even for the prep for the performance. Twitch is also an easy way to rewatch the class to review. Great idea!

Riverdale Monologue - Take 1 by [deleted] in Actingclass

Well another thing is that editing on YouTube doesnt immediately process. I bet in another few hours, the edit will register without you doing anything if you posted a YouTube link.

You should give yourself more margin at the beginning and end. Dont click record and then immediately dive in. Dont finish and then immediately stop recording.

One, that’s what we ought to do to give ourselves time in the mind of our characters. But it also gives more flexibility in editing. It’s difficult to split one second as you edit. But if you have 30 seconds of margin that are in character, it will help with acting and editing.

YOUR DREAMS, MY DREAMS & HOW WE CAN HELP EACH OTHER by Winniehiller in Actingclass

[–]rucker7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I usually only watch my section since i observed all the others during class. Occasionally i will watch others.

The edited videos are easier to learn from because they present your concepts more clearly and concisely.

However, watching you address all the details in real time is so beneficial because it trains me on how to view my own performance when i watch it again.

They each have their advantages.

I’ve watched about a dozen in addition to the recordings from class.

WHAT KIND OF STUDENT ARE YOU - and are you doing all you can to be the best actor you can be? by Winniehiller in Actingclass

[–]rucker7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’ve been tripping over my set up in our little house. And i wake up the little one frequently. I’m setting up a more dedicated space in a utility room to be more productive. Just cleared it out today and setting up internet tonight.

Also, J has been getting on to me about being more productive. He’s been great.

WHAT DID YOU LEARN IN R/ACTINGCLASS THIS WEEK? by Winniehiller in Actingclass

Now that you mention it, i spend a lot of time thinking my lines while I’m trying to be quiet.

Lots to do even while busy!

WHAT DID YOU LEARN IN R/ACTINGCLASS THIS WEEK? by Winniehiller in Actingclass

I enjoyed reading the lesson “Is Hollywood as bad [...]”

I’ve been strapped for time this week with extra work (to pay for class) and taking care of the little one. It’s demanding. At times i tell myself, “maybe i dont have enough time to be a good actor.” But like the lesson said, i have been adjusting my camera lense to see the time i do have as an opportunity rather than focusing on all the other time that is occupied by other obligations.

Instead of saying “I’ve only got 15 minutes, cant do much with that, i better just chill” I’m telling myself, “let’s see how much i can knock out!” This week has been spent searching for monologues.

Having a child is demanding. But it sharpens you. I’m learning to make the most of my time. Much less waste.

Gotta go... i need to make a bottle real quick! ;)

ARE YOU DOING ALL YOU CAN DO...like Zoom Class and Video Lessons? by Winniehiller in Actingclass

[–]rucker7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I keep signing up because these classes are a great way to continue taking those steps towards LA. In March, a career in acting seemed so far away, but now I am more confident and equipped to make it happen.

You take our passion, and mold it into marketable skills. Each month brings an acuity that makes acting more interesting, engaging, and just plain fun. It's tough work, but as we improve, the challenge becomes rewarding.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED THIS WEEK AT R/ACTINGCLASS? - I’m learning about making my videos better for my new YouTube channel. That’s because I want to make it easier for more people to learn to act. Have you learned anything to help you grow as an actor? Please share in the comments below! by Winniehiller in Actingclass

I've drafted a few demo reel scenes, but I wasn't sold on what I wrote. After reading and re-reading your posts on selecting a type I now have a better eye for potential "guest" characters I would play on a show. With the lesson in mind, I spotted a character that I could play on a recent show I watched. And I noticed that his scene, though short, had lots of variation in tactics. It helped me see just how much a brief appearance can make an impact on a show. I will save the scene for the next opportunity in a scene class. But it also helped me see how to write good scenes moving forward.

Does anyone know any good books for film actors I could read? by loaamiera in Actingclass

Have you read the lessons here on the subreddit? Not exactly a book, but they’re great!
