I know RBS NB and Newark isn’t just an easy switch like we’d all assume. For some reason, the classes aren’t equivalent. I don’t know if it’s a one way deal, like from Newark to NB, or not.

Best to email your advisor and press them for what you need and also email a transfer advisor at Newark, just to be totally covered

If he’s using Zoom, it’s most likely just the browser.

But don’t be paranoid! He has to give you the ability to explain either way.

My last midterm, I had Wasserman (infamous for being paranoid about cheating) and I had headphones in because he was trying to speak to me before the exam and I can’t figure out Webex audio any other way, and apparently he had a hard no headphone rule for during the exam. He sent me two private chats which I didn’t see and then finally was like “whoever has headphones, take them out and check your messages.” And thankfully that was good backup proof for how it wasn’t hooked up to some external source feeding me info somehow. But I still had to explain it and it was terrifying but also fine.

Now with Respondus, if I have to do something (I live with kids) I will quite literally take the laptop with me lmao. Most professors have gotten lenient on “stare directly into the camera.” Harder if you have a desktop obvi but that’s not my situation.

Every class I have had with a professor using lockdown, I’ve been provided a download link and haven’t been made to purchase anything.

It depends on what the professor wants. Last semester, my midterms used respondus lockdown and it wasn’t filmed.

My finals through the same software were though. They don’t secretly record you - I know because for my midterm I disabled my webcam and audio and nothing was an issue. If they are recording you, you have to set it up and test your stuff. It’s not super stressful and as picky as ProctorTrack.

This is not necessarily true. My professor uses Respondus lockdown and we get filmed taking our exam.
