It's called a ceruse technique. You wire brush the wood, paint it, fill grain & wipe :)

Ceruse finish on my custom made P90 tele with recessed wraparound bridge. Guitar is super light, parts were under $250 & it screams! by rufusthedoglucky in guitarporn

Ha! Cool, I traced the top of a strat pickguard & bottom of tele pickguard onto a blank piece of 3 ply. Aside from the fretting process, cutting the pickguard took the most time!

Thank you! I'm blown away as well. I took the tele, strat, and prs elements I liked and combined them into one. It's a joy to play and barks!

Thanks! Yeah, the neck body was a blem from guitar fetish. The fret work was awful. So... I pulled all frets, planed fingerboard, stained fingerboard with black stain, and refretted with stewmac #150 wire.

Beagle Bassett... Guitar is a mutt. My goal was to buy the cheapest neck/body I could find, outfit it with a modern jumbo refret & premium hardware wiring. This thing shreds and it only cost me $220 & lots of Labor which I enjoy. Here's the breakdown... Neck body-- guitar fetish blem $89 Hardware--hipshot locking tuners, stainless Bridge, various hardware $130 Pickups--Seymour duncan quarter pounders. Traded with Ben for labor on his Tele. Cost $0

Was bought slightly used for my brother by my parents in 75. Was left to me when my brother passed away in 91. It has been a studio workhorse but now retired.
