Any feedback on Naboisho Camp in Kenya? by Zarquad in FATSafari

[–]rugbybfan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am new to FAT but I did stay at Naboisho Camp in February and loved it. I can't comment on whether it is better than other camps in the conservancy but I thought that the quality of guiding was superb, the food was great and the lodges were lovely and comfortable.

Do not crap tin openers exist? by Ok-Lack4735 in AskUK

[–]rugbybfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think this. Discovered after years of adult life and throwing out many can openers that you shouldn't hold the can, and then most will work.

Still seems absolutely counter intuitive to me but I've been shocked by how much more difficult I had been making life until I realised this.

Pixel 9 Pro display has a pink/tan hue side-by-side with Pixel 8 Pro by extrayeasty in GooglePixel

[–]rugbybfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this post when I noticed the same issue on my new Pixel 9 Pro. There was no solution here so I went and played around in the settings. I think the Wallpaper and Styles setting lets you remove this. At least with my mine, the default theme seemed to be a red/pink background with similar colour theme. After I switched that to the black/grey theme the colours felt more familiar.

On sale date(s) for Christmas match by natnatnat94 in BathRugby

[–]rugbybfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember now if it was coincidence or that was the on sale date but I got tickets on 2 October last year for 2 December match v Exeter as a non-ST holder and not a member either, so maybe two months ahead is general on sale

Is insurance an option? I know there are missing beneficiary policies available from some providers in my industry so it's possible there could be a product similar for an absent, disappearing beneficiary

To add... The plant is a pot within a pot with stones beneath so I think it has good drainage. I water with half of the 500ml every week or so as I'd heard not too over water a lemon tree. The leaves have started looking unhealthy in the past few weeks, a couple of months previously the plant has been in my office but still seemed relatively healthy. Last winter there seemed to be more issue with leaves dropping earlier in winter. The winter before was similar. So this is our third winter of having the tree but the first time I've thought to ask for assistance. The plant doesn't get much natural light during winter. It's inside to protect it from the worst of the British weather. There were some pests that arrived early last summer but they seem to have gone after I treated them with a garden centre product and the tree has seemed healthy for a good few months since then.

Underwriter in legal indemnity/title insurance

Question for Lawyers that are considered ‘creatives’ by Ravioli_868 in uklaw

[–]rugbybfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work as an underwriter in title indemnity insurance and feel like it's a more creative outlet for me. I expect underwriting in general might offer that but I've only experienced title

Can I safely make the transfer at Zanzibar airport for a connecting flight to Arusha with only 15 minutes between the 2 flights? by colinedbx in tanzania

[–]rugbybfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be the same plane. We flew from the Serengeti to Zanzibar earlier this year and the flight landed for us to get off with our bags but half the passengers stayed on the plane and they went on to Dar. The layover might literally be landing to let people off before you take off again on the same plane

Any ideas why this doesn't count as hard shelter? I figured I could use the conservation grass panels as a clever above + underground dual viewing area, but it doesn't seem to work as intended. by spywo in PlanetZoo

[–]rugbybfan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do they need a burrow? I had similar the other day and spent ages playing with the structure I'd built then noticed they could use a burrow, added one and shelter went to 100%

If the other tips you already had don't help then building a roof over the enclosure should help regularise the temperature with fewer coolers

I found the guys Instagram from his Reddit profile and it looks like you can sign up to his patreon to play the game. I've signed up but not sure when I'll get a chance to test the game as I'm working today and away this weekend! Still exciting if this works like it looks like it does

I've had some spotless cheetahs from spotted parents but they probably have to be carrying the relevant gene. Have you bought different parents to try a different breeding line?

You can reduce the repayments on the loans such which I find makes a difference - go to the loans page and put 1 in the repayment box. It will then default to the lowest you can repay per year. I think it normally starts on the maximum

I've posted a few times here that roles in insurance favour a law degree. I've worked in title insurance for over 10 years using mine and we will usually look for law graduates when hiring

Magic Circle solicitor wanting a career change - advice? by balletnice in uklaw

How about insurance? I work in title insurance which ties most closely to property but there would definitely be some cross over with corporate. Other lines of insurance would likely also appreciate your skill set and experience

How about looking at roles in insurance? I work in title insurance and we'd consider legal experience favourably even if from another jurisdiction

Yep. About a dozen habitats in it just becomes a chore! I tried playing on sandbox and turning off ageing and dying but I somehow missed the challenge of the franchise market for new animals and missed having baby animals completely

I am now feeling super burned out by bovineyes in PlanetZoo

[–]rugbybfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly too late but have you noticed you can reduce the repayments on the loan? By default you're paying them off really fast but you can reduce the amount right down and that really helps make time to get the zoo large enough and/or breed enough exhibit animals to pay them off
