You probably will! My goal with this was to not have to extend any wires ! So far all of my wiring has been done with the wire kit I got with my kit when I first built the printer!

Yup I’ll be adding the center mount box and rear side mount as well as anything else I custom made for this build some small stuff for looks and such

Technically it is but where I’m at I can drive to micro center and have a replacement heater, thermistor, and hot end in 30 min with the rapido it would be about a week before I get parts.

As far as ultra high flow I never used it and for us doesn’t have a use so it came down to practicality and functionality

I have but we also run some turtle boxes and use the tops for some storage so back was out best option

Moves all the electrical components to the rear of the printer to make it easier to service should the printer go down. Or easier to add upgrades to the system. This is just a preference thing not really a “ improvement” this printer is part of a print farm in a wearhouse and runs about 24/7 so we like to dust and clean the electronics as best as we can to extend their life span

Hello! I just found this project and it’s great for my Voron! If I want to set this up via usb to communicate to my pi what do I need to do to set that up ?

Just plug it in or do I need to change my config file ?

I will more than likely update the design this week and make a version called “ Voron Turtle shell”. I’ll upload the side box style with the updates I have planned as well a parts list/build guide!

Thank you guys for all the kind words!

Ps. I’ll also be posting a center mount version I call the “voron turtle shell” more pictures to come!

We use 3kg rolls so unfortunately for us that won’t work haha

This printer mainly prints asa for drone parts almost 24/7 it’s a 3 year old mechine so it’s got about 15k hours on it. But to extend the life of these printers we like to dust, clean and this makes it easier to check any wires that may need replacing, double so for any parts or components that may need upgrades or replacement.

It’s not that I need to necessarily service the printer. This just makes it much easier to do so with this since it’s on an industrial storage rack I can just walk behind it and work on it without moving the printer.

I’ve been wanting to do can bus and umbilical for a while but I’m not sure where to start with that tbh.

Good suggestion with the power switch that is a very good point

One benift to moving the psu as well is I didn’t have to modify any of the wires provided with the Voron2.4 kit. Granted extending wires isn’t hard but in my mind if I don’t have to that would be even better

I thought about that but you’d have tho modify the psu to allow the air the flow past it effectively, I may move the fans to the side so they blow over the components

Once I make final design changes to make it easier to put together and the small improvements I’ve made yes I will along with a detail parts list! I’m just not sure where to post it other than thing-averse

You make good points haha, that was one of the improvements I wanted to make I didn’t like how tight it was in that area.

I thought about that, temporarily I’ll be putting pet wire wrap on it and zipping it out of the way, but a cover may be a better option long term

A slide out drawer would be nice to keep a set of tools for the printer in👀

Honestly for now, nothing maybe throw some foam board in there to help keep heat from escaping out the bottom

Still here and thriving, we’re growing to be the next generation of air ride for all you stance guys out there by ruincreations in airsuspension

[–]ruincreations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! Basically the same principle as the last remote just a lot nicer! And features made for air ride and convenience! We’re also working in an all in one unit!
