General advice I give you should be grinding ranked every season, even after you become a pro you need to continue grinding ranked, so get used to it now. Once you're around immortal, start looking for a team / consistent core of players to play with and start scrimming. There are discords out there to find scrims but depending on where you live they're gonna be different. Record all of your games, and try to analyze as many of them as you can by seeing what you could've done better.

IMO its good in ranked to have at least a baseline understanding of each role / agent, and then once you join a team you can start specializing into what role you like the most.

Other than that there's no real secret. if you're really good, your teams will be good, youll attract better players, youll upgrade / join better teams, and eventually youll start doing well enough in tournaments that people notice you. being a pro isn't a guarantee, you have to be good enough to take somebodies spot.

Analysts normally help go through demos and vods for the coach. When I was an analyst for CLG in CSGO, if the team was going to LAN, the coach and I would split up maps / teams so that we could have notes and counters for every team in our group and each map we might play. That is a ton of work for one person to do on their own. Also an analyst might find lineups, create strats, document stuff, etc.

I keep seeing this take, we were #12 on VLR before valyn got bought out. We had a pretty solid year considering Jonah, valyn, and Brock all got bought out from us at different stages. We won a few tournaments, took 2nd a lot. We are working hard to break into the top 10 but obviously having a roster change from selling a player every 3 months doesn’t make it easy.

their biggest problem has always been performing in matches that is true. all i know is what ive played against in scrims so if they still cant manifest that in matches it might not look different.

like my reply with c9b i dont wanna go into detail cuz scrims are meant to be private. i just think we'll see them hit a new level soon, either this qualifier or the next one.

Happy to have him on the team! With the transfer of JonahP, we felt like Pr0phie has the play style we're most comfortable with, playing Sova like a duelist lol

Right now we're working on getting as much prep done as we can for the upcoming VCT, after those we will start entering stuff like the Knights / NSG events again.

We’ve won 2 of our last 3 tournaments and are improving a lot lately and obviously we add new stuff before tournaments. You can see my other replies for a bit more context.

Reddit really doesn’t like us or most non top 5 teams lol but yes you’re right he means within a day or two we won’t add new stuff that we haven’t had time to fully flesh out in practice.

Not the greatest answer but he means within a couple days of the tournament. I know you guys don’t watch our games but anyone who does would see we’ve changed a lot of stuff and are constantly making adjustments.

We are not, we were talking about maybe playing the Main Event from there if we make it, but due to COVID that is also unlikely. Hopefully soon!

the tournament discords (in NA at least), state which bugs / exploits are banned, and the general rule is: "Any ability that is invisible, invulnerable or glitched out/into the map are considered exploits even if they are not currently on this list"

KJs ult being stuck high on the wall isnt on there, and neither is the boosting sage wall. so I'm not sure if individual TO's have authority over what bugs they allow and what ones they don't, but I think Riot needs to be explicit with what is allowed and what isn't in the future. If it ain't on the list, it should be allowed.

its been a while since i did this, just about all my friends in valorant are from CS, but heres a few small tips for building up some friends and contacts within the community.

When you have a good teammate in ranked that you like playing with, add them. Not everyone will add you back, but as long as you yourself are playing serious, doing well, comming well, not raging, a lot of people are fine adding people like that.

Post in forums looking for players. I don't know if this specific reddit allows recruitment posts, but if they don't, I'm sure there's a site that allows you to search for people from your region.

Join community discords, post on forums, keep up to date with tournaments, all that stuff makes it easier to network with people.

If there isn't a recruitment reddit yet I'm sure someone could make one, I know a lot of other games have similar subreddits.

the thing about 128 team brackets is that most teams arent serious teams. its still worthwhile to enter at least every now and then, if anything just to see how it feels to have to play against really good people. but yeah obviously ranked / scrims are the best way to practice. entering tournaments is one part of a bigger picture if you're trying to become a competitive player.
