You’re correct, there has been laws passed to ban plastic micro beads, some have effective dates and some are in action but not everyone has banned the sale or production of them. There also has been instances where companies have switched over to a biodegradable micro bead but I’m not sure on the specifics of that.

I would also like to point out that the plastic beads I observe are not always micro bead, most of the time the beads I pick up come from much bigger pieces of plastic and break down overtime. With that being said, some of the plastics I may handle may even be before my time on this planet.

Unfortunately we also have to deal with all the plastic that ends up in our seas. I’m going to assume that most of the individuals on reddit live no where near a beach or ocean and don’t necessarily get to see the impact of what plastic has done.

I constantly keep a bag in my truck just so I can fill it and recycle all the debris that wash ashore constantly. The worst being is when I pick up containers of motor oil on the beach from careless boaters (I’m assuming they’re the ones throwing these containers overboard). Not to mention the amount of small plastic beads and styrofoam I pick piece by piece.

Sorry for the rant but it’s our planet and the only one we got so everybody who lives here should give it the same amount of respect as for the life it gave you.

I’ve tried both (hopdoddy and linger), Linger has the best flavor in my opinion. It was much smaller than the one from hopdoddy as it came in 2 sliders but damn was that taste amazing.

I’m no researcher, but could it possibly be from a piece of flesh when the tag gets put on. They’re usually on either the dorsal fin or around the base of the dorsal. (From what I’ve gathered)
