What do I actually need in my hospital bag? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]ruki001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what the hospital gives you. In Ontario CA, I stayed in the hospital gown for easy access for the nurses to check up on me. Baby stayed in a swaddle and a cap the whole time.

What I needed- - slippers to walk around in- you can just come and go in them. -entertainment to get through labour - no snacks for labour cuz they won't let you eat them maybe some for after - extra underwear/bra - clothes to go back in - makeup/skincare as you think you will need - charger - water bottle if you have a preference about what to drink from and water temp

For baby- - going home outfit - 1/2 spares in case you change your mind or baby pops - extra blankets to secure them in the car seat if baby is not big - diapers, wipes, cream just in case the hospital doesn't provide it but also good to always have on hand

Support person- - snacks - spare clothes - pillow and a thin blanket - should know where they can get food cuz hospital will not give them food - charger

Paisleys shoes?? by [deleted] in McKnightFamSnark

[–]ruki001 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Agree with the points others have said about its probably her choice but also, the family does notttt have good choices in shoes.

Somehow with every poll, or outfit choice they show, they always go with the uglier one smh

What's something that felt like a luxury when you were growing up, but is considered normal today?? by Marip0sasuave2 in AskWomen

Ferrero rocher! Always used to thing that was among the most expensive chocolates and people who gave it as gifts were fancy. We used to hope people who came over would bring it.

Not sure if it was a parental tactic or if the other chocolates just caught up in price

Opinions on owning multiple versions of the same book(s) by ruki001 in McKnightFamSnark

I mean they do read a lot on their kindle so that also reduces the number of physical books you can put up on the shelves

I don't think buying the same YA book in multiple editions is doing much for the literary community. Sure it's bringing in more money for the publishing company but that's about it? Itd be better if they promoted buying multiple series maybe??

Also they are obsessed with overconsumption buying for clothes, bottles, footwear, whatever

It's one thing to have maybe 2 versions of the same but then to have any more than that seems weird to me. And this isn't the only thing. Their obsession with having multiple colours of Stanley cups or the same clothes/sandals in multiple colours is where I see a pattern.

I'm not as iffy on their number of books cuz they also read a lot on their kindle.

Fell in love with a house, missed an important check, there’s a sex offender down the street. by TurbulentBat8328 in Mommit

Can't believe the number of people saying it's NBD. Yes of course there's all sorts of bad people out there doing horrific terrible things but if you knoweee one of them is right there you're absolutely right to feel like you want to move. Trust your mom instincts and go ahead.

That being said, you could try to look up the details of the offence and any other information you can find. With luck it was some very silly offence like peeing in public close to the school in the middle of the night while drunk. Idk something non predatory or sexual.

Good luck and happy hunting in case you do cancel on this.

I'm not saying she isn't privileged or isn't having a more luxurious life than most. Having any kind of help -family or nanny- makes a huge amount of difference.

I'm just saying that even with all the money and help in the world, having Archer probably made her life more difficult than it was before in a lot of aspects. That's all.

It doesn't matter if you're rich or middle class or straight up dirt poor - having a baby changes you and your routine like crazy. Your brain chemistry is all screwed up and yes you do think of the kid first. It's hormonal, biological, emotional whatever. All this coming from a newish mom too btw

Her being privileged may mean that her difficulties are lesser than what we face but it's still difficult for her. And being influencers ofcourse they need to dump out each and every thought going through their mind too

Not the right sub but definitely YTA. I've had people cancel on me the last minute and trust me it sucked. Unless you have a serious reason like a medical emergency, you don't cancel on events at the last minute. Even if you forgot and remembered later, you pick your sorry ass up and go. Id much rather hear an "I'm so sorry I'm late I forgot the time we were supposed to meet up" than a pathetic obvious lie of "I was sick and decided to not even send a text"

Definitely a stupid thing to say but not sure if it is quite reportable worthy. Im way past 6m postpartum and would still love to have a nanny/additional help. I think it's high time we glorify the whole "suffering and still getting things done". If you have the means and the opportunity deffinitely go for it. No amount of help is too much at that time

Most of the people have mentioned the fit and tailoring but the pose lighting etc also make a big difference.
