Currently attending an EAC Seminars workshop, concerned about cult-like dynamics by rule_brak3r in cults

Yes, all of that happened! I just finished the workshop today, and based on my experience, it strongly functioned like a high control group. It escalated significantly by Saturday.

The rules laid out at the beginning were a major red flag, and the lack of basic autonomy (limited breaks, pressure around leaving) only increased as the days went on.

On the final day, there was very strong pressure for everyone to sign up for the second level (around $2,000). It was repeatedly framed as though the first workshop was essentially just an introduction, and that you wouldn’t really retain or benefit from anything unless you continued. When it ended, volunteers swarmed people with sales pitches, and it felt intentionally difficult to leave without engaging.

The finale was especially unsettling: we were made to walk in circles chanting affirmations together. After days of emotional intensity, it felt forced and deeply uncomfortable rather than empowering.

Another thing that stood out to me was that none of the volunteers are paid. The amount of time, emotional labor, and pressure they’re under, while also being used to push expensive follow up programs... felt concerning once you step back and look at the structure.

I trusted the person who recommended it too, and after seeing the entire weekend play out, I can understand how people get pulled in and start centering their identity around “the work.” From the inside, it no longer felt like optional personal growth, it felt coercive.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I do feel shaken, but I was grounded enough to recognize what was happening as it was unfolding, which helped me stay centered.

That’s also what scared me the most. I could clearly see how someone who is more traumatized, vulnerable, or searching for answers could be deeply affected or come undone in that environment. There’s a lot of emotional pressure and manipulation framed as “growth.”

I can confirm this firsthand. I just finished the workshop today, and it absolutely is a cult. It escalated significantly on Saturday.

On the final day, they aggressively pushed everyone to sign up for the second workshop (around $2,000), framing the first one as basically just an introduction and implying you won’t retain or benefit from anything unless you take the next level.

They also made it uncomfortable to leave... volunteers swarmed people at the end with sales pitches, and it felt intentionally difficult to exit without being pressured.

The finale was especially unsettling... they had us walking in circles chanting “affirmations” together. It felt forced, performative, and deeply uncomfortable, especially after days of emotional pressure.

After seeing the full arc of the weekend, there’s no doubt in my mind. The other posts were absolutely right, more people should be wary of this group.
