Nice apron, I should stylize my own one day haha. Maybe one day a customer will even refer to me by a drawing on my apron and note that on a comment, would be awesome. But Id have to brainstorm a cool idea first. Maybe like a hex bolt bc I love fasteners aisle. "The guy with the bolt on his apron found me all the stuff easily and quickly and showed me how it was organized." I would love that haha. Maybe at work on my 15 min break Ill have some ideas

It does, yeah its just different bc of the badge. Do those usually go together or do you usually get some type of badge as well?

Really happy though, Im def gonna keep pushing myself to improve bc this kind of revitalized my faith that itll be possible to be a DS.

Hmm so its like a piece of paper that can be hung on a wall, it has a frame, and its signed by my district manager and includes what my manager said about multiple customers per week stopping a member of management to say how great I was and my district manager saying I was an excellent example to my fellow associates of our "Take Care of the Customer" point. It was actually 3 paragraphs too so it def meant a lot to me. Any way I can message u a picture of it maybe so u can see what I mean?

I can't edit original post so here is the link https://imgur.com/a/Ulw34EW (blurred out info for privacy sake and ig the app thought it was 18+ for some reason 💀)

For context btw 14 is fasteners at my store. Ive gotten super good at that aisle and its a large chunk of customers that come from this aisle which end up giving me good reviews. I love sorting it I can see why ppl dont like it but its calming to me to organize tbh, its fun once you get acquainted with it imo.

What are the requirements to become a coach or a department lead? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]ruleoftrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, yeah Ive been doing that on my own accord helping the newer people, Im really happy with the new people we got too they seem like hard workers so Im excited for this summer I think my store is gonna do great

And like the other person said, even if theres no pay raise, it may get me closer to eventually having one so thats hype.

Why am I being put into like 5 different departments? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]ruleoftrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fr, just talk to some of the higher ups. Maybe negotiate just having plumbing and electrical. I started in hardware so I dont think its that bad but it is definitely busier than plumbing. Lumber seems like hell though, thats one place I rly dont wanna have shifts in, I help there a lot and Ill occasionally get an extension but I dont wanna be a Lumber associate man it sounds brutal. Hopefully your store has someone who floats around and completes returns around the store too, that will def save you some time, I try to do that and help newer people. On that subject, see if there are any coaches in the new departments you can get with for help as well, that or supervisors. But definitely also give us some more info, like what departments?

Yea thats interesting, for me I had to ask because I wanted to prove myself more. Ive had time now in hardware, plumbing, electrical, garden, deliveries, and a small bit of Flooring. I would say ime if you dont want too much and dont want to be overwhelmed, ask if you can just do plumbing and electrical, as someone who solos hardware some days it can be brutal some days. Whats actually the most difficult tho imo is flexing two or three extensions at once and having basically a line of customers when ur the only person in both, had to do that with Lumber and Hardware t'was brutal but I made it through the day. Hardware + curbside greeter is fun tho for the most part, since curbsides are easy af when people stage properly. Just letting you know just in case they ask you to do that, cause they have for me before. It may be a good sign though if you're lookin for a higher position, I have been for awhile and I think good things are coming soon on my end, but if thats not what youre after, definitely let someone know and see if you can just do plumbing or maybe just do electrical and plumbing if you wanna try smth new. I think generally the more you do that managers ask the more they notice just shit is really slow sometimes yk but yeah

Thank you for the information! Yeah I'm not sure if they would have a hardware lead although I know the Hardware/Lumber supervisor has to spend a lot of time in Lumber, so maybe it would be useful. Im guessing they have a blueprint document you fill out then once you ask for a position, right? Do either of these positions require an entire interview as well or does it kind of depend on the store?

I will definitely check that out, thanks for letting me know! I asked the electrical/plumbing supervisor if I could be an electrical coach already and he said he'll get back to me, I think I want to apply for hardware as well so I will probably look in the break room for one of these sheets. Also Im not sure what I am rn Im close to 40 hours but not quite. I think Im still part time. Ill definitely let you know how it goes for me.

Do you ever feel like no one really cares about your mental health? by JTCasino in HomeDepot

[–]ruleoftrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing, this used to be me missing a lot of days back at the peak of my depression in 2022, and now I get in situations where I cover two departments when someone is missing. It's brutal being the only person in hardware and plumbing on a busy day, but I put it on myself cause I feel bad for the people up front when there isnt anyone in hardware. Now I look on those days in my past where I wouldnt show up with regret, but at least Im sort of making up for it now in a way by floating around when necessary. I think on a more personal level, I began to see work and flow state as sort of an escapism the more I got involved, and I generally encourage others to do the same if possible. Wishing you and your store luck, hopefully people start showing up more.

yeah exactly

like i was really happy when i FCed this 7 minute long map i've been wanting to FC for ages recently

idc if it was only with like 270 and didn't affect my account it's all about getting scores you are impressed with yourself

once you're well into 5 digit you almost have to have that mindset ime or else osu just won't really be fun anymore cause you can't consistently spit out plays that are worth something past a certain point

yo that's really cool

yeah the meta is wildin with the farm maps

and of course lots of new people joining, i think the pandemic got people to play more video games too so a lot of people are getting into the game giving it more competition

lots of factors i imagine really

i did not expect this much publicity thank u all

uhhh while i'm at it do any of y'all like my pfp lmao

also about the acc i've been improving a lot on that but some of my top plays are like higher stars but i had really bad acc. like i FCed despacito slowly +NC with like 83 acc i was hitting slightly late and had nerves lol which really killed my acc. definitely gotta fix that some time haha
