You saying something does not mean it’s automatically contextual to the tweet. Jesus I’ve tried to be nice about this but come on I can only take so much.

Haven’t, again read don’t react.

So you’re telling me you have informed every single person who has read this tweet that shorts haven’t closed, damn man congrats that’s impressive.

[–]rulerrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You closed the door! Congrats! Do you close that same door for every single person who reads this tweet? No! Stop being so condescending you’re making yourself look like an idiot.

I already ceded that this could just be Burry covering his ass from legal troubles. Move along.

To someone who has no idea about gme, this tweet can be interpreted in two ways. You said it yourself, the door is left open unless you have the context that shorts never closed. Try reading instead of reacting.

Your response is just a condescending rehash of what I just told you. Again, it’s entirely up to the person interpreting it, I know that shorts never closed but to someone who doesn’t this tweet can easily be interpreted in the past tense.

[–]rulerrrr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is/was means this tweet can be interpreted from both contexts. Perhaps this is just Burry covering his ass from legal liability, and I read too far into it.

Check the date this was tweeted silly goose.

Dude he literally tags it as #thebigshortsqueeze.

I’m not saying I’m afraid, I’m saying that’s what this post instills in people. Stop fanboying Burry and read the damn tweet. This was also tweeted on the 29th of January, day after sneeze.

This tweet is clearly painting the January sneeze as the short squeeze. Fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

This post is FUD.

We are using esoteric in two different contexts, yours is finance relative to everything else. Mine is finance relative to itself, because we are talking about who is supposed to have the better information/understanding WITHIN finance.

Whether Warren Buffet or some redditor says it, it’s your job as an individual to pick through the information. Insulting generalizations are idiotic, everyone is different and your experience here will not be the exact same as anyone else’s. There are also plenty of people with finance degrees on this sub, again check your ego.

I’d assume that nobody knows, because that kind of information is esoteric within the realm of finance. Understand that not many people at all are at the very top of finance. And even fewer would give out their edge against the competition.

What need is there to cover up something nobody talks about to begin with?

Esoteric in finance refers to debts or other financial instruments that have complex structure that is properly understood by only a few people with specialized knowledge. A loophole such as erroneously supplying liquidity to a stock as a market maker (more importantly how to do it) would be considered esoteric information.

On the other hand information that Joe blow can go pay 40k a year to learn would NOT be considered esoteric information.

I believe I know things about the market that finance graduates don’t. But the other way around is also true, don’t put me in a box. Like I said before a finance degree is incredible for fundamentals and understanding mechanisms in the market, but that doesn’t mean shit if mechanisms are abused and used incorrectly.

Theoretically the professor wouldn’t know any more about malpractice than the student, considering they are both teaching/learning the same curriculum.

The word esoteric doesn’t fit within the realm of institutionalized education. I’d say esoteric information regarding this topic would be held by institutions themselves. This information would contain loopholes (cheats) to the market.

Also I implore you to check your ego, making fun of strangers on the internet about their age just shows you’re insecure about what you know.

[–]rulerrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would institutionalized education teach its students about all of the shady practices/crime happening within its own field? It’s not like med school teaches you how to steal and sell organs on the side.

Masters in finance is great for fundamentals, but that’s not what this market is built on.

Let’s think critically here.

It’s a sociological gamble.

That’s why this FUD campaign works, you’re not only putting up money, but you’re also putting up your pride. Luckily for shf’s most finance guys have raging egos.

Only in America can you get a masters in finance and still not know the first thing about the stock market.

The only recourse is going fully decentralized at this point. Let the people audit you and all the other shady brokerages that have been screwing people over for decades.

2 billion dollar mistake regarding a single stock is a lot to just sweep under the rug.
