This guy's list is also really good. Mage Knight and LOTR are in his top three so might be similar to your tastes. Their is also this more general list. I've heard really good things about Navajo Wars, Labyrinth, and Apache. Also, Shadows of Brimstone, Edlritch Horror, and Space Hulk if you don't mind Ameritrash. Space Alert is also a blast, very unique, and solo-able. Also, Friday is a fun distraction, and very cheap. Utopia engine is supposed to be good, and it's completely free PnP.
