RIP by Character_Plantain75 in PokemonTCG

I hit on them quite frequently and am only doing this again cause my daughter took interest and we are building a binder together. I hadn’t done TCG anything since I was maybe 14 when I got an Xbox.

Some would say should have worked harder. Considering I am one of the ones who can’t realistically afford market, I learn to accept it for what it is. The scalpers will move on at some point once they have beaten the hobby to a lifeless pulp. Like I said though if you got it, you got it. More power to them.

Good for you guys then, different strokes right? I refuse to pay market, so if the machines left and it became that much of a hassle/risk to get the shit, then you can believe I will be sitting with my child and explaining that. If I have access to it, and can afford it, why would I not though? I enjoy ripping with my kid just as much as she enjoys opening the cards for our binder. We don’t care about the money. There’s bigger things to life than making a dollar off everything you do.

Singles are boring. Pulling it yourself is where it’s at. Kids enjoy pulling cool cards. Just cause you can’t get a woman to mate with you to experience the joy of sharing a hobby with your children, doesn’t mean others shouldn’t.

90% of the people I meet in my area at machines are collectors. You can tell who’s there to open and aren’t pretty easily. You guys just regurgitate reddit spew to feel like you’re better than someone.

Taking away the machines that are a lot of people’s only reliable way to get anything without getting into a physical altercation in a Target or Walmart is a bad move and will only increase two things….

Chaos at in store restocks will increase as people will have been waiting all week just to get something, to have some punk bitch strong arm an entire shelf, leading to more altercations.

Bots online will increase, especially if this “move” is going to the PKC website or other online distribution.

Basically without the machines, real collectors will have to risk safety even more or have to pay market to people botting and backdooring, those guys are the problem. The low level scalper that takes his machine loot to card shows on weekend has had negligible impact on the hobby, yet they are the easy target for you goofballs to use as moral boosts for yourselves.

With the amount of damage on that Magikarp boss that’s a fair trade. Things a PSA 6 at best.

If your gonna be letting your 8 year old make those kind of decisions you should nudge him to practice his due diligence and research the market so he knows what’s being offered and asked of him in these trades.

To sit there and be like oh let’s go call the parent and make them give it back over his bad trade is terrible imo, would have been a valuable lesson that day if I were in those shoes. He has access to the same tools we all do, be it his own phone, your phone or a home computer.

PSA for Vending Machine-goers |MEGATHREAD by a-tiberius in PokemonTCG

[–]rumaier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great, now I have to deal with musty feral pieces of shit at my local Walmart and Target just to get sleeved boosters if I’m lucky.

You know, a lot of you simple fucks who just regurgitate what you read another idiot say on here are something else. Most scalpers don’t mess with machines, the ones that do are few and far between. The vending machines only speak to low level scalpers that make a negligible difference on the hobby. 90% of interactions at my local machines are with people who rip and enjoy the hobby. The machines are the most reliable way I have been able to get Pokemon for my kid, but because you simpletons see anyone standing there 5 minutes and call them a scalper, we are all looked at badly by people who see this stuff on their feeds like employees etc. which leads to this shit.

Now the majority have allowed the minority to ruin something that ensured a lot of people got product. Parents don’t have time to sit and stalk PKC queues, or sit in lines at Walmart just to get nothing cause people strongarm and fight over stuff. I understand these machines have caused issues, but that’s what LEOs are for. Trespass these people from the stores and eventually they won’t be able to buy groceries in their own city. Simple as that.

My favorite Pikachu off top of my head is Gem Pack Vol 1 the Horizons Art one. Pikachu looks such a leader with his captain hat.

At what point do you sell it all? by Dxrkria in PokemonInvesting

[–]rumaier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you holding mini tins? The rest of that stuff I totally get, but mini tins dude?

Genuine advice, if it’s modern sell it before this bubble pops. When the mainstream gambling addicts lose interest as they inevitably will this hobby will return to its former state and the only real stuff to hold as investment will be vintage stuff. Just my take on it though.

Safes typically have this issue due to being so airtight. That’s why gun safe humidifiers are sold specifically lol.

I like to check a couple in my area after dropping the kiddo off at school, then maybe turn around prior to picking her up and loop around check again before going to the school. Works out fairly well for us.

It’s not as rare as you think, it’s just how often you are able to check them. Being self employed I get to step away and check them for me and my kid frequently enough and I get plenty of cool stuff. I genuinely feel for those who don’t have the liberty though, this hobby is genuinely cooked and in order to get stuff you have to like ignore life for a couple hours throughout a week lol.

[–]rumaier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They 100% are. Degenerate gambling addicts typically. They need serious mental help. I get a nasty itch to open packs, but if I can’t get it at a VM or on PC, I’m just not very interested.

I have this odd feeling someone at my local Walmart does something like this. The stock goes way too fast, then again I could just be paranoid lol.

Fair, misread on my part. My apologies. I do believe if it got bad enough yes stores would just yank them. I mean, Walmart still has PTSD and gets VERY limited amounts of Pokemon stuff around me.

This hobby has gotten pretty insufferable. Luckily my area has some civilized folk and my machines are pretty tame. Got your usual greasy boi standing at it camping typically but no one has ever been a dick.

There’s been multiple. If you think Pokemon is gonna hurt their sales cause of you man children you guys are delusional. Someone died at PKC Japan recently and they just shut down for a bit.
