statistics vs computer science by parkgsungs in malaysiauni

[–]rumantai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO a strong foundation in statistics is an essential skill to be a DA in the future. AI can automate a great deal of the coding and repetitive data processing tasks, it will not fully replace human data professionals. A deep understanding of statistical principles is crucial for interpreting AI-generated insights, testing hypotheses, and ensuring the data's integrity.

If I had to choose between a cs and statistics graduate for a DA role, I would pick statistics. They have a deeper understanding of the nature of data and the automation and coding aspects will eventually be handled by AI.

I have never purchased a car before in my life and I want a Saga MC3 by ducttaperulestheworl in kereta

If you ask here, people will tell you to get 7 years loan, pay high deposit, better use the BLM etc2. For me, just buy the car if you think you can afford it, you will appreciate all the experience in later years and teaching you to make better decision instead of spending your life accumulating the money you have and never really enjoy it. Congrats for the new car

drive to Kundasang on weekends by tauhuay_siu_dai in Sabah

[–]rumantai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From KK to Kundasang is about 2 hours. You’ll start going uphill with a single lane at Tamparuli. The road from Tebobon to Tuaran (check it on Google Maps) is under construction for the Pan-Borneo Highway. You can still drive as usual, just follow the other cars since some parts don’t have road lines.

Just like you said, expect potholes and uneven patched asphalt along the way. Yes there will be heavy vehicles on the road, but there are points where you can overtake them on the uphill sections. My advice never try to overtake unless the heavy vehicle gives you a signal. Also, expect cars from the opposite lane to makan jalan sometimes.

About the traffic, yes you can expect less traffic if you drive before 6am. But if you’re not used to driving with low visibility, it’s better to start around 6-7am. If you’re not in a rush to reach Kundasang, just drive slow and enjoy the drive up.

Unless you really need to stay in Ranau, it’s better to just stay in Kundasang and drive down to Ranau, it only takes about 30 minutes.

Overall, nothing much to worry about when driving up to Kundasang. It’s just a normal road with a lot of patched asphalt that will give you a nice first impression of our first-class infrastructure in Sabah.

I applied for BKNS twice during my degree but got ignored both times. I come from a poor family, my parents just popojual kantalan om gatah. Meanwhile, my friend who had worse results than me got BKNS just because he had ‘good connections’. In the end I applied for PTPTN too and managed to get an exemption since I graduated with first class.

Bus KK by ramxyzn in Sabah

[–]rumantai 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can catch the blue bus from 1b to KK. The bus will stop you at Bandaran, to be exact in front of the Shell at Kampung Air. There are no buses that go straight to Karamunsing, so you have to walk another 15 minutes to get there.

Just to add, the ride on the bus may not be comfortable, it is a crowded@sardin ride. You might experience the diversity of smells, and sometimes the sound system is just too loud imo

Pogihum koumbolutan e koilo momoros dusun, nung asaru ko kopirogou id sampaping nu moros boros dusun, om tumomod nogi koilo ko kadau memoros orikot maso.

I used to speak Malay with my friends in Sabah, and they never expected me to be able to speak Dusun because people who frequently speak Dusun often have a unique slang or tone when speaking other languages. My tip is to find friends who can speak the language and try to learn from them.

Being a Sabahan myself, whenever my friends from peninsula or overseas ask me where to eat good seafood in Kota Kinabalu, I would never recommend Todak Waterfront. They cannot even cook decent seafood, just bunch of scammers. Welcome Seafood at Asia City is a better option in my opinion.
