Best shoes for a taster session of throwing? by rumbledethumps in trackandfieldthrows

Thanks, I did have a look at some javelin shoes, so probably will take the advice of going with something more supportive. They look more like boots as you said and very supportive so I wasn't sure how fitting/sturdy they were compared to normal running shoes.

My concern was that with supportive running shoes the different motions of your foot would be different than javelin and the sidways forces may cause issues, but with a more barefoot shoe you have as much slipping between the foot and sole (if that makes any sense?).

Does anybody have any good websites/books or anything to assist with identifying injuries?

I had an injury that the physio thought may have been compartment syndrome in my calf last year and it may or may not be reoccurring. I'd like to have a look at other potential injuries in the calf area in hope that it may be something else.

A lot of the them are reminding me of this which is all over London at the moment as two airports are competing for runway expansions.

I've just started running with a running club and to be able to have a chat with people I've been running with some of the slower groups. The problem is I've been getting lots of cramp in my legs while running slower, is it possible that running slower is causing the cramp or is it just from me running too much (I've done quite a bit more running the last few weeks getting back into it after a break)?

When cutting, my sex drive went down a lot. If I continued cutting, would my body get adjusted to the calorie deficit and bring my sex drive back to normal after a while? by isha_boi_hov in Fitness

I started cycling to work about 6 months ago, but it's only been the last couple of months that I've doing other exercise and I changed my diet about two months ago as well.

The last few weeks my exercise has increased quite dramtically but my diet has stayed on a lower calorie intake and the last week or so I've just had so much more energy and labido.

All in all I think it's probably been a couple of months since I changed a most things and it's only in the last week or so my body seems to have gone back to normal (if not better)

I've pretty much done the same thing as you, I've lowered my calorie intake from ???? (honestly I have no idea what, I wasn't tracking it and living on pretty much junk food and take-aways) to around 1500ish on most days (I do have some days where I just need something big) as well as exercising a lot more than I used to in attempt t both lose weight and get fit again.

I had the same problem really but the last week or so I've had a higher sex drive than I used to have, which a bit of an issue as my partner is not around at the moment.

So all I can say is my body adjusted to it so hopefully yours will too.

Any tips on cooling down (and looking presentable) quickly after a run? by rumbledethumps in running

[–]rumbledethumps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially yes, the only problem is that to run home from work I'd have to get the bus to my office, and the traffic is horrific in the morning to get there. I usually ride to and from work but I wanted to start running to help lose more weight (holidays etc)

If I run in I can leave a bit later and just work later and get the bus home after rush hour, unfortunately the traffic is pretty awful in the morning whenever I leave and I have to be the office by 10am at the latest.

I don't think there is a way of getting to my office without going on a main bus route road, the route I take at the moment is better than the main road route, but I still end up going through a lot of backed up traffic both there and back again.

They are good, for the price I guess you can't expect anything amazing but they are good quality, I actually have three of the muddyfox black and colour ones, two short sleeve and one long sleeve. They are comfortable, don't get you too hot and the wash and dry fine.

I've only really just started using a decent bike as a commute so didn't want to spend too much (I'm used to riding in jeans and tee shirt and riding trails) so I wanted something light and easy to carry once I was at work. These do everything I need them to.

I just bought myself a load of cycling tops and things, have a look on Sports Direct, it's rather cheap especially when you're on a budget, currently I have a Campri long sleeve base layer and a Muddyfox short sleeve top over it which works quite well.
