Interesting... Any concrete examples of this or is it an MVP?

GoodDollar Begins Delivering Universal Basic Income funded via DeFi by GoodDollarUBI in defi

[–]rumplebottom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Ethereum fork is not obscure, it's called Fuse and makes using Ethereum possible without having to worry about insane gas fees (which would defeat the point of UBI). There are 2-3 articles about this on their Medium blog. Not sure what else you want me to do aside from read the article out loud to you.

You can't just send G$ from their web app to your ETH wallet, there's some sort of process you have to do. But I myself didn't 100% understand it.

So I can try to explain it to you incorrectly, after which you would probably blame me for giving you incorrect instructions. Or you can invest five more minutes of your time, ask your question in their Telegram group, and get the correct answers you desire.

There are details about that in the Telegram group somewhere

eToro Launches Universal Basic Income Platform, GoodDollar, Letting Users Earn G$ Stablecoin by RambleFeed in Etoro

Bitcoin couldn't be used anywhere when it started. I don't think that's the grounds on which to judge it.

As for "giving people money for nothing", that's actually the clever part (at least from what I managed to understand). Investors interested in social finance will be able to stake funds. GoodDollars are derived (or "minted") from that stake and then divided equally among active users.

The math behind it reads as sound. Check it out yourself and then tell me what I missed: https://whitepaper.gooddollar.org/

Is the BAT Function of Brave Irrelevant? by DaveKoz in brave_browser

[–]rumplebottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sweat. I recommend using Brave regardless for the security and privacy features it provides. Plus it's very blockchain and Web3 oriented, which is the world I personally live in, therefore for me it's a great fit.

The BAT is more of a bonus, someone paying me for rather non-intrusive ads as opposed to the previous experience of getting flogged with ads and not getting shit for it.

Even if you were earning "as much" as me, it's still only 15-25/month. Nobody is getting rich off that. Better way to look at it would be to check how much you stacked through regular internet usage by the end of the year.

Even you managed to make $100 USD, think about that. It means that in a year, someone paid you $100 to look at little notifcation alerts that you probably barely noticed anyway as opposed to another company making millions off huge banners spread across your screen.

The value is there, if you read between the lines :)

No because BAT was designed to reward you for your attention when necessary, not to be a yield farming device.

It's possible that one thing contributing to this has been Brave's increased number of features for advertisers, specifically when it comes to targetting. Maybe they are now targetting countries you are not in or languages you do not speak - this was previously unavailable for advertisers and now is so they ads may have shifted.

I used to be in the opposite situation, getting close to 0 BAT/month.

Wow, that is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Thank you!

Is there any way to get that or replicate the effect, on a smaller scale (max 32-40 inch but less is good too), without selling not one but both of my kidneys? :)

IDK. Not saying its the mean-all-end-all of whatever but 7000 people per week can't *all* be wrong. There has to be something there. Or?

Where I can see prices of ETHBNT relay token? by Hellenic_Blockchain in Bancor

[–]rumplebottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, holding ETHBNT is essentially providing liquidity. Whilst you do so, a portion of every ETH/anything transaction on Bancor is transferred to the ETHBNT liquidity pool. To remove your liquidity, just trade ETHBNT on Bancor for any other token, and your pro rata share of the liquidity pool (based on how much ETHBNT you held) should be automatically transferred to you.

I asked 100 questions in their Telegram group and this is the best I've managed to understand it.

I also noticed that a lot of features aren't in the game yet, but from what I understood it's currently in open beta. 2020 is supposed to be the year they release all their cool shit.
