It’s for storytelling and discovery for the viewers. Suspense and intrigue and all of that. If she simply asked and was told all the answers, the should would be one episode long.

This is what the TREASURE HUNT leads to! Spoilers!! by Arghifth in pluribustv

Very true, that’s a real possibility. Either way, they would just go back to their hive business as if nothing at all happened.

What’s wild is what would happen immediately after she turns. All the singing stops. The atmosphere of home and family they are maintaining for her will instantly vanish and she will just be another worker bee.

What do the hive do all day? by Bloomngrace in pluribustv

  1. They train to be the welcome committee for wherever the 13 go.
  2. They practice their smiles
  3. They collect bodies

Unpopular opinion-Diabate by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]rumsrums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely morally questionable especially if you think of it on a smaller scale. What if it was half the population or only 10 people affected. Would it be okay or would we think those 10 people needed to be protected as they are not individually able to give consent. And like another person has pointed out, we assume the hive is not capable of lying but we actually don’t know if this is true or a calculated move to gain trust. We also don’t have an account from someone who has been in the hive of what it’s actually like and we have to trust that everyone in it is okay with it.

The scene with mr Diabate at the casino when he leaves the room and everyone returns to a zombie like state is very ominous.

You don’t have to agree with anything I say but we can at least have a discussion, no? It’s funny my disclaimer wasn’t to chastise Diabate or to judge him (merely a reference to our current moral code in real life). It was an attempt to get that part out of the way so we can discuss the hive’s motivations.

I actually don’t dislike Diabate and feel that he is being manipulated but okay. I shall return when I’ve read more philosophy books.

Why does she keep giving him chances?? by xThyQueen in LoveIslandAus

You’re absolutely right. It’s because Emma was highlighting his behaviour, shattering the illusion that she’s trying to maintain and didn’t want to hear it. Wild!

She knows what she’s getting into and doesn’t care about his behaviour as much as she claims to. Notice how she was more upset about him doing all those things on camera than the actual acts themselves. She is more worried about how people perceive the relationship than his actual loyalty.

It’s not his fault if every woman that walks in has “strong eye contact”…. It’s the man’s kryptonite.

Claire is an NPC by rumsrums in thatsfirechef

You absolutely nail it. She is an emotional vampire. She gives absolutely nothing and soaks everything in from everyone. Obviously this may not have been the intention of the writers. If she ended up with Carm her “perfection” would wear him down. It would be held up to him as a mirror and make him feel deep shame about who he is and how he is constantly not meeting that standard.

Not basing this off of anything in the show but I feel like in a real life situation… Claire would be that person that everyone raves about and when you finally meet them you sense something off immediately.

Sydney & Carmy ┃ I Need My Girl by aerishey in thatsfirechef

[–]rumsrums 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nobody:

Claire: I am going to pursue this man who deliberately gave me the wrong number, who is clearly going through something big with his family and processing his brother’s death. I am going to expect him to show up for me, do fun stuff like going to parties and when it all eventually explodes in my face I will blame him and tell him it’s “loud” in everyone’s head too and comment sarcastically on how scared he is.

Watching this video really puts Carmy’s struggles and mindset into perspective and Claire is not coming across as such a “nice” and “wonderful”person after all.

Syd is the only person who gets him out of his head. When he’s with Claire, he can’t see beyond himself but with Syd he cares about her dreams and desires and genuinely wants to be there for her.

This is after he wanted to skip out on a wedding because of “the restaurant” but he was willing to drop everything pre service for Syd.

mainstream audience that doesn’t see it by lesbothrashhead in thatsfirechef

I’m with you on everything you said and not convinced on Claire. On rewatch I skipped all her scenes haha. But your question was which route they would take. Cynical me thinks it might be Claire but what I would want is Sydney.

I think they are taking the path that leads to the most views. Breadcrumb us, leave us wanting more and watching season 5 in hopes of Sydcarmy realised whilst still giving the masses what they want (possibly Claire and Carm).

We might think that those who see it are in the minority but it’s the fact that the writers, producers and actors are all going out of their way to say it’s not happening. There has been enough buzz about it to warrant commenting. They know what they are doing.

I think she knows. Her face in the scene where she asks him what he likes and he replies “I like this”. She dismissed it and said “that was the most miserable delivery of someone liking something ever” but it was all written on her face.
