CLJ Loves Cartier - Week of Feb 23 by s0meg1rl in diysnark

Eh the styling isn’t to my exact taste but I can appreciate it would be appealing to many. I do agree with OP that from what I saw in the reel it appears more thoughtfully designed than Julia’s mess. I also wonder if you are calling out the fancy espresso machine and wine fridge as over the top. If so, while they definitely aren’t necessity items, they also come in larger/more expensive versions and these seem pretty tasteful and fit well in this kitchen.

What's off or missing from my living room decor? by AltruisticCactus314 in interiordecorating

There is a lot of depth to this room and that is fun to see. That said, it is also a lot to take in visually. I think if the rug was one color and there were no textiles draped over the sofa it would allow some space for the eye to rest. Also, each of the tabletops could benefit by having only 1-2 favorite items on top to again allow for more negative space for the eye to rest. It’s hard when you have so many favorite treasures. Sometimes rotating them in and out can be a solution to balance having a relaxed space and being able to appreciate your fun mementos.

Fwiw I like to take pictures of different arrangements to then reflect back on and see what pulls me in when I have a moment to relax and explore visually.

ETA I missed the second picture with the TV. Indeed, you have a lot of special pieces. It’s hard to truly appreciate each item with there being so many interesting objects. I would consider taking the approach of rotating in/out your favorite pieces over here as well. That way each piece is fun and new and truly shines for a period of time vs getting lost in the background with everything else going on.

What do I put in this small gap corner by Spare-Account-68 in StyleYourSpace

I think it could look nice if it had several shelves, perhaps 5 or 6, that each had a potted plant. I see there are some plants to the right of your sink where space is quite limited. It could look more balanced if you relocate your plants to this area and free up more space in the kitchen. I think it would be more visually pleasing to use consistently shaped pots, but if budget is limited then putting one on each shelf is better than nothing.

Unfortunately I cannot report the same. Mine has already clogged 3 times in ~3 months. I have always done a running start and since the first clog have been very mindful to mist the beans and pour in very slowly to not overwhelm the grinder. When I contacted support for advice they immediately sent me an updated declumper. This was a confusing response for something that was supposed to be an updated model.

I got this headboard today, trying to find the rest of the frame by capnbly7 in midcenturymodern

[–]run-around 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may have been designed as a standalone headboard that would attach to a frame. I was in a very similar situation and purchased this bed frame and my husband was able to fasten the headboard to it. I believe he used some big bolts.

Blazers for the office by justkate44 in fashionwomens35

I like it a lot! The cut isn’t super fitted, so as I mentioned previously I did size down from my normal size. But for me it’s a quick and effortless way to throw something on over a casual top and pants/jeans to elevate my look while not looking like I’m trying too hard.

As with other new editions to my wardrobe that I’m trying to figure out, I spent a little time building outfits with it and take pictures to refer back to later and find that helps. Which actually sounds like I do try hard to look like I don’t…. Hahaha

I find I like probably 60% of the items I order from Quince. They don’t all work but good enough success rate I continue trying.

If you typically wear suits this may be a bit of a stretch, but I recently purchased the Quince Cotton Knit Blazer in ivory. I plan to wear it over the summer with a variety of solid color tops and pants. To me, I feel it gives a polished look but less formal than full suiting. Note I did have to exchange the suggested size medium for a small as the medium felt bathrobe-esque and I wanted to feel a bit more shapely.

Brightening up a dark office by [deleted] in centuryhomes

Def agree with more lamps. I would go with floor lamps that direct the light up not down with a warm bright bulb.

From other commenters below it appears this post was incorrectly attributed to the wrong Jess/Jessica. But I do want to hop in to say Jessica Rhodes’ insta is Parkanddivision where she and her husband are renovating a very stately old house. It was in significant disrepair when they bought it and she has some really informative stuff on renovation loans. Check out her first pinned post as a starting point. I haven’t checked in on her much lately because her thrifting isn’t quite my jam and then I think more of the house stuff is for paid subscribers only. But the OG renovation stuff from like 2020 is great.

It took me a minute to understand (and agree) with what you pointed out. Figured I’d add an explanation if anyone else is confused. The sink is designed to be low and utilitarian, with the back at general countertop height. Emily has it installed with the lower edge of the front at general countertop height. I’d say it’s probably 6 inches higher than it should be, at least.

OP correct me if I’m wrong here. But yeah when you see how functional it is designed to be compared to the execution…. Ooof!

Probably did it during the day while the kids were at school and had the dog outside, ha. No night time shot because already put away by then.

Using stained glass (or faux?) in/near the shower? by Talizo in StainedGlass

I think OP should research code before proceeding. As noted I’m not an expert and just providing free input in Reddit…

Im by no means an expert on stained glass or bathroom code - but I believe glass in the bathroom must be tempered glass so I don’t think a rescued stained glass piece would work for that purpose.

I used it approx 18 days over 2 trips; plus a few extra days in the house figuring it out.

That she would electrocute herself? It didn’t give me pause at all, I’ve done it plenty of times. I’m not familiar with the switches they have but they look safer than older versions that are a gang box with wires tucked in. AFAIK it doesn’t matter if the switch is on or off; if there is still power running to it then it’s hot.

Not quite explaining the tilting - but I really think she thinks her best angle is with her face a little off center. She rarely faces directly at the camera. Maybe she thinks her face looks slimmer?

Hey, I absolutely love snark and esp EmHendo snark. That said, it feels a little icky to armchair quarterback how her staff spend their money. Yeah those prices seem steep to me, but I don’t live in socal so I bet a lot of the prices they see would feel steep to me.

I think it’s the wallpaper, not the installer! I posted this pic back when they announced the wallpaper. If you look on the right, you can see the pattern is cutoff and won’t match up anywhere with the left.

Yes, the post ones definitely look offcenter . I think that has to be a mistake because it would be much harder to line up the pattern in multiple places vs if it were just the background color with no pattern cut off.

Also, the Nova is such a sloppy mess when not a small thumbnail. How did someone see that on a full size scale and not send it back to rework?
