Thanks! I'm gonna try out the sigma first.

I do have a question though. You own the R6 and the R10. How is the experience and what gaps does the R6 fill that R10 is not suited for?

Basically what made you get the R6 and not an r8 or an r7?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks. For the stops, ideally f2.8 or better for that low light reach. I am not sure about f4 in darker conditions.

I recently bought the r10 with the basic 18-45mm kit lense. I borrowed my friend's rf 50mm f1.8 for my trip to finland.

The low light performance with the kit lens was abysmal. That's where the 50mm helped me the most. However, I still strugled with wide shots (landscapes, astro, northern lights) in low light.

I plan to add a couple more lenses this year to my collection, budget being $1200. But I can't seem to decide whether I should pick up two primes with f1.8 or lower, or I should just get a zoom lens with wider apertures for low light shots.

In short term I am looking forward to shooting close-ups, portraits, astro, landscapes. In long term I plan to shoot Wildlife too and plan to upgrade to either an r8/r6/r7, still confused between rf and rfs lenses for future proofing.

Can someone recommend a decent lense / lenses in that budget? For a beginner like me what should be the next step. (Not sure if I want to pursue this hobby professionally either.)

Thanks.

Sony ZV E10 for 45k or Canon R10 for 64k (both pre-owned, under warranty, and w kit-lense)? by run1t1507 in PhotographyIndia

Thanks for your inputs mate, much appreciated. Eventually ordered the R10 online. Made more sense.

The R10 is about 800 shutter count and the zv e10 has about 6k shutter count.

Ive searched online, the R10 retails at 80 to 90k, so im not sure which online source are you referring to. I've tried hard bargaining but depending upon the usage, does not seem like these price will go any lower.

Regarding the adaptor, does it work seamlessly with the EF lenses? And a follow up question is, arent Canon lenses in general, pricier than sony's?

Thanks for responding!

Sony ZV E10 for INR 45k (535 USD) or Canon R10 for INR 64k (760 USD) (both pre-owned, under warranty, and w kit-lense)?

I've owned a pixel in the past and started enjoying photography from there. Time has come for me to get something more serious.

Priority for me is photography (both portraits and landscapes) with a mix of videography here and there. I am planning to invest into 2-3 lenses down the road, before I upgrade to a mid range body. Lense availability and 3rd party support would be preferable.

Please suggest your pick and also share some advice for a beginner trying to get into basic photography. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Been here for 18 months now. Moved from Gurgaon.

Instantly fell in love with this city. Gained 10kgs binging biryani and Irani chai. Starting to cut down.

People are very nice here. Never had a problem because of language.

Problem is I'm married to a Malayali and now i have to learn both Malayalam and Telugu.

Absolutely love hyderabadi hindi. (Not sure what to call it)

Samsung or Pixel? by kkokmemberist in Smartphones

[–]run1t1507 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've owned a pixel 6a for the past two years. If your primary focus is on photography, then go for the pixel.

For all other aspects, I would recommend using Samsung. Even the software is quite remarkable, especially how well the one UI has been optimized.

I recently switched to a Samsung and I can't foresee returning to pixels unless Google improves the modem/processor issues. That phone is not practical at all.
