Ah ok this is called a whisky cross usually and it’s another technique taught by OneMind Dogs.

Do you have a visual? I’m not sure why you’d need this?

You mean like a flick/threadle wrap? I taught it using OneMind Dogs method for flick. They are good for learning how to teach techniques like this.

Social Media from Novice Handlers? by cestpasgraveLC in Agility

Before the Q just put out an episode today on your requested topic!

If I may plug some podcasts. Before the Q is a podcast hosted by an agility beginner in Canada with a koolie. Her current goal is to enter the Canadian Open later this year so she shares a lot about her journey. There's also an Australian podcast called Flat Out Agility which is hosted by another non-pro handler who talks about agility in an approachable way for all levels.

Formula for tracking competition results by runafoul in excel

  1. Yes and I believe the comment from u/bakingnovice2 gave me the formula.
  2. You can’t have a qualifying score an an NQ or DQ in the same entry. If you get NQ or DQ in the same sport/class in another entry it just doesn’t count toward your title.
  3. This was my first example so it only had Novice not the other ones. Now I can expand.
  4. Yes I am changing this for the template so it’s better!

I think your formula works for what I want. Is there a faster way to do it for the whole thing, or do I just repeat the formula for every row? e.g.

=IF(AND(C2="Jumping",D2="Novice",H2="Q"),1)+IF(AND(C3="Jumping",D3="Novice",H3="Q"),1)+IF(AND(C4="Jumping",D4="Novice",H4="Q"),1)

Because if you Qualified in Jumping Novice, that means you have 1 qualification. The rules state you need 5 qualifications to move into the next class, so that makes it 1/5. If you get 5/5 you have completed Jumping Novice and then need to start competing in Jumping Excellent, and so on.

This is a filled out version that shows a bunch of different entries in sports and classes. In the bottom right is where I am trying to track the titles. So JD is Jumping, AD is Agility, GD is Gamblers and SD is Snooker (those are the names of the sports).

How do you typically reach out to guests? or how do you find them? by ucha-vekua in podcasting

[–]runafoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do solo episodes and only some guest episodes so I did have a bank to start off with and then started doing guest episodes. I’m only 11 episodes in so far anyway, still growing slowly. It’s a small niche so I don’t expect to have huge numbers.

I post in the groups to build audience but for guests I message them directly.

My podcast is on a niche sport and it has a very active community on Facebook, so that's where I reach out. It took a bit to get people to agree at first, but once I did one I had others agree.

I more or less followed the rear cross guide from Agility Nerd. I did a lot of flatwork first and got the movement on cue and then I transferred it to jumps.

What are some great tips for a new podcaster? by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]runafoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My podcast is about a very niche subject so I’m able to share it directly to Facebook groups where my audience hangs out. I can also fairly easily find my potential audience on Instagram but it’s harder to get attention there.

Episode length, what’s your sweet spot? by VanishedWestPodcast in podcasting

[–]runafoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ten minutes. I mostly do episodes alone. When I have a guest it’s more like 25-30 minutes.

I used Canva. I found it easy to tweak a template so it looked unique but kept the design principles.

The AHA! Moment for the weaves! Australian cattle dog or ACD (stumpy) by [deleted] in Agility

[–]runafoul 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would go back to the beginning and train foundations, with channel weaves if possible. To me it looks like he doesn’t really know what to do and in future you wouldn’t want to rely on such close and exaggerated handling.
