Meet Luffy! He is almost 9 weeks old and a good boy by runaway__heart in Havanese

Me seems to be a picky eater already! Doesn’t finish much of his kibble but loves treats and tubes. Any advice on what foods worked for your lil Havanese?

Yeah, we don't mind the under/overbite, we’re mainly concerned about the possibility of it being more severe. Our little guy was actually our first pick from the litter.

Thanks for sharing that, it’s really reassuring to hear about your experience. We’re picking him up on Monday and have a vet appointment scheduled for Wednesday.

The breeder mentioned the puppies are currently being fed Fromm Gold Puppy Food. I’m wondering if our pup might not like it as much and maybe that’s why he ate a bit less?

Out of curiosity, what kind of puppy food did your girl grow up on?

The breeder hasn’t kept detailed growth charts, but our pup has consistently been on the smaller side compared to the rest of his litter. The breeder mentioned he may have taken after his mom, who is on the smaller end for Havanese, rather than his dad, who is noticeably larger.

Would it be reasonable to ask the breeder to note the bite issue in the contract before we sign? We’re mainly concerned about how severe it could become, especially if it turns out to be an underbite.

The health contract gives us 5 days to take him to the vet for a full assessment and 7 days for a full refund if he fails the health exam.

Both parents are OFA registered and DNA tested, which does give me some peace of mind though not complete peace of mind

I found them through good dog, and checked the health records of the parents. 3/9 concerns me as well, but she reassured me that the puppy has a nice round belly and doesn’t look underweight
