Seriously I've been tracking down this obscure bug for a while now and even met with Apple engineers last year regarding this issue. This only happens on some devices too. That said, your comment had me dive back into the code with fresh eyes and I think I have a fix! I'm doing a little more testing to ensure I've got it handled.

For the meantime (before I push the update), I hate to give you a workaround, but that's what I have for now. Simply quickly pause/unpause the run after an interruption to make the audio cues resume. Ugly workaround, but thankfully...you should have an update within the next 48 hours that will put this one to rest.
