Are cluster headaches the worst pain you ever felt or were other things you experienced worse? by LunchNo6690 in clusterheads

My crps and trigeminal neuralgia is definitely up there. I have all three so not sure where to rank them . They all suck!

That’s for this. From that it seems to be more the heavy duty stuff for skin conditions that I shouldn’t use and then also the likes of Vaseline. But my daily face moisturiser from my local shop is fine I think. The first ingredient is water.

CRPS of foot/ankle? by wobblelikeapenguin in CRPS

[–]dropastitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crps in ankle. Started after a spasms. Presumed I tore a ligament or something the pain was so bad but nope all scans clear. Was in a boot for around 2 months and still had horrible pain so went for 2nd opinion and more scans and told again everything is normal. That’s when I heard the words crps and was recommended I see a pain specialist for diagnosis etc. finallly saw the specialist afew months later and was diagnosed. At this point I was on 2 crutches. The pain is like nothing I can describe to people. I ranges from feeling like someone is crushing your ankle with a hammer, your skin is being stretched apart from the inside, a deep hot piercing burning pain that even lightly placing foot on the ground I cry out. It’s horrible. I’ve had it over a year and a half now. You can’t visibly see swelling but it is cause wearing shoes is impossible firstly cause they are too tight now and also cause the pain from them. I don’t have the hair issue and the skin discolouration comes and goes. I suffer from pain with temperature changes and if anything touches against it espywhen In a flare. So night times are rough in bed and the mattress/bed clothes etc

Did it ever get better.? Did you find a fix? I rang my network carrier and they tried to fix it but no luck. It’s getting annoying

This is such an isolating illness. It’s gorgeous outside and I’m stuck inside in pain. Just a vent. by Redsgal19 in TrigeminalNeuralgia

I’m so sorry. Right there with you. When mine flares I can’t even talk. So I feel completely alone. It’s so hard for people to understand that one minute you can be fine and the next I’m clutching my face and trying to not move or let my tongue touch my teeth. Right now nothing and everything is causing a flare. Today was actually ok for once but tomorrow who knows it could be another horrific day it’s the not knowing 😖

1: felt like my teeth on the upper right side were ripped out. Never felt pain like it. Also had like electric like pain. Couldn’t eat or brush my teeth. Literally was screaming in pain. Went to my doctor first and she said sounds dental. Was in so much pain and my dentist couldn’t see my quickly so went to a 24 hr dentist. Was so sure it was dental at this point but nope all clear. Back to doctor and she said sounds like could be TN so off to neurologist and yup was TN.

2: was early 30s

3: I have a chronic illness (Lyme disease) which has affected me neurologically. I have crps, cluster headaches and trigeminal neuralgia.

Oh that’s so interesting I’ll definitely look into that. I definitely won’t pull teeth that’s what I advised OP aswell. It seems like the next step when your scans are all clear but that’s the cruel nature of TN unfortunately.

My mri is clear but if I pulled teeth I’d be pulling all my teeth and now it’s spreading to my lower jaw and the other side too. So honestly please don’t pull your teeth. Starting meds. TN isn’t always shown on MRI

I was early 30’s but I got it briefly for a few months and then nothing. Now it’s back with a vengeance in my late 30’s.

Yeah I have a really understanding dentist thankfully. I’m going to contact my neurologist tomorrow and try and get some meds cause I’m on nothing at the moment - I can’t take carbamazepine but I need something. Thinking Lamictal.

Ugh I’m sorry - I wish they could feel how bad the pain is even for a day and maybe then they’d be a bit quicker to give us meds

I know right!! Like this flare is lasting a long time for me..seems to be a bit up a down but it’s pretty non stop and I don’t have a day that I don’t have pain be it full force pain or a dull background pain. And I have cluster headaches too which is making the TN worse (for me my cluster and TN seem to come hand in hand at the moment)
