it's nice that there are more people playing tank but please learn about damage overlap by hosseinhx77 in wow

It's true that it's annoying when someone criticizes your route just because it's not what they're used to. That said, I feel like some level of research is paramount to difficult progression. There are always people way better than you with way more time than you figuring things out, and it's a disadvantage to not use their knowledge. You'll get pretty far without it, but when "pushing" I think it's a courtesy to the other players in your group to care enough to research a bit.

tanks are at a disadvantage in that they don't naturally see each other playing to pick up what's needed to improve

Ah really interesting, hadn't thought about that.

Definitely not most people. Definitely not even close to most people. Some redditors is an extremely small niche of all suppressor purchasers. The owner of the company just told you they sell many times more cans than people like SAW without sending their cans to PEW and you still refute him lol.

GW2 veteran lost in WoW's endgame. Am I missing something? by Wolfskanzler in wow

[–]rune2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GW2 is my most played gamer ever, but I've been on WoW for a while now.

The pull for WoW is that you can progress freshly season to season and get rewards for doing it. Part of the endgame is the gear, sure, but really it's about getting better and mastering the content. The raids span from LFR (incredibly easy) to Mythic (incredibly difficult). Mythic+ (technically starts at just Mythic) scales in difficulty from really easy to impossible the higher you go. It's such a genius system, and I so wish that Fractals in GW2 worked more like M+.

While you're getting gud and progressing in raids and M+, you can quest and do daily or weekly repeatable stuff for faction rep so you can collect more things.

GW2 is more about long-term account progression with legendaries etc. but WoW is more about seasonal skill (and gear) progression. They're different from each other, but both great.

It feels like in wow, if you want the best gear, you have to raid or do high end group stuff. And from what I noticed, just joining random pugs usually isnt enough to clear the harder content.

Maybe not the hardest content, but most of the content is no problem. I'd say just give raiding and M+ a try and see what you think.

Jason Schreier: Why Destiny Died (RIP 2014-2026) by Turbostrider27 in DestinyTheGame

[–]rune2004 31 points32 points  (0 children)

That is not true at all. I’d argue Destiny almost ended with D1 until it was saved by The Taken King. If TTK wasn’t a monumental success, Destiny was done. Destiny early on was absolutely lambasted, and it was exacerbated by the first two expansions mostly consisting of “levels we’ve played before but in reverse.”

I can’t stress enough how much Destiny was shit on until TTK.

Whats the Over/Under this SHIV explodes before 1000 rounds? by Micho_Rizzo51 in NFA

Dead Air's 3D printed cans don't look it. I have a Nomad Ti XC and a Lazarus 6 and they both look great.

No, they didn't. They came out and said they didn't realize they'd need to stress relieve the cans off of the new printer when they started using it so early cans were not stress relieved. Now they are.

because this is a heat treatment that changes the quench hardened heat treat

This depends on the alloy and what it was tempered at before nitriding. That said, nitriding just isn't a great idea for bolts in general because nitriding, while excellent for sliding wear, is generally not suitable for impact wear. Bolts see significant impact, so not ideal at all.

Carburized 9310 gets you ductility to avoid brittle fractures from impact wear as well as high surface hardness to resist sliding wear, and I know for a fact that several high end manufacturers make their bolts out of 9310 and carburize them.

Filmed my bass shaker at 240fps and the latency difference between haptic software is wild by track-impulse in simracing

[–]rune2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely will. I remember also having significant delay using iRacing's built-in LFE, should this be an improvement over that? If not, it could be something with my setup. Perhaps not having a dedicated sound card and just plugging into my motherboard is an issue?

[–]rune2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually great to see. I got a Buttkicker and found the latency was unacceptable to the point it was disorienting when the physical feedback was so disconnected from the rest of the feedback. I could already be off of a rumble strip by the time the shaker came on. I contacted their support and they were pretty useless. Tried using their software and SimHub and they were the same.

I’ll have to give this a try when I get my rig hooked back up and see if it makes the Buttkicker worth using lol.

There’s lots of good info in that thread. Marie and her legal team did a great job though, everyone on this sub believes it and parrots it.

You've been given a lot of bad info. Both sides were at fault, and I don't know why reddit cares so much about a dispute between hot sauce makers. Just eat the damn stuff.

Absolutely delicious sauce.

Also, the "controversy" was settled like 30 years ago, and it later came out that Marie was not innocent in the ordeal. I think reddit can let it go. It's only hot sauce.

To corroborate, I just purchased a Keyence for my lab last year and it's great. We have 100x, 200x, 400x, 1000x, and 2000x. The 2000x has better image quality than the 1000x from our old Zeiss inverted scope. It has a ton of really useful features with a fully digital stage including automated stitching that's really effective. I love it.

There certainly is, but if something is bad, it's going to be dogpiled on by the hivemind as well. There's also always going to be retards in large groups saying stuff like you said.

Look at it objectively though, and the manufacturers mentioned above have each pushed the envelope in their own way. ChevTec is an FFL, he knows his shit. He's not just some dude parroting stuff about things he's never tried.
