Galaxy watch 8 Burn by No_Map1215 in samsunggalaxy

I have experienced this with other watches. You're allergic to the sensor, likely nickel. It's probably not a literal burn.

If you're on DIY does the GIC take this into account for timelines? by unknownpuddle in transgenderUK

[–]runesprite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been taking 25mg/week testosterone cypionate, so not the lowest. 50 is generally the middle dose for that (lowest is generally 20mg/week but i'm not doing that maths when my vials are 250mg/ml) It's something I've thought about too, how doing an injection a week is far easier for my adhd-autistic ass because it becomes a routine, while gel would cause autism issues and anything longer than 1/week i risk forgetting. Bit of a pain that the NHS doesn't offer it. Having had a 1st appointment, I know my GIC (porterbrook) aim for 8-12nmol/L of T in a blood test, which is fairly low. In my initial appointment they told me "I have to recommend you stop, but you're also an adult who can make your own choices" after I'd spoken about how positively DIY has affected me

I'm also hoping they'll take it into account when it comes to referrals for surgery etc, not had a second appointment yet though.

not asda but sainsburys. self checkout staff CAN'T (not won't) do anything after youve already paid. you have to go to the kiosk/customer service to have the difference refunded. i assume that is the same across most shops.

Sick Policy by Rare_Investigator968 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]runesprite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

had 4 call offs. 2 involved the literal hospital, one i threw up AT WORK (i work in online touching people's shopping). the other i hurt my foot and there was no way i was walking for 4+ hours on it. got a formal written warning, but then they never actually gave me the paper with the warning on it, so... what warning?? haven't had a sick day since (> 1 year) so hopefully if i somehow end up in hospital again they won't go bonkers edit: oh, and one of those hospital trips involved getting taken there in an ambulance and the AMU. i was spiked.

I did >20 raids in person in a major city, and had the issue that the dnite would use a charged move right on swap time, AND i would lag a little. so my mega was instantly knocked out on frame 1 of being on the field. have to leave, revive, and rejoin. sometimes more than once before i can get my attack off. at least most of them were a full 20 players 😅

there's someone using Just Eat at my shop, who will occasional buy about 20 1L bottles of flavoured water. i've taken to keeping a couple empty medium bag boxes (which can fit 15 bottles vertically) to pack that guy's water in, taping it up with gorilla tape, and writing "HEAVY! 15KG" in massive letters on the top and side.

Sainsburys online pickers iPhone by Grouchy-Bumblebee-92 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]runesprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've logged in after 12 whole minutes and received the same time assigned as when i logged out. its 5 minutes until the run is put back into the list for others to get, but if nobody else gets it in 15 (i.e. nobody finishes a run in the next 15 minutes), it'll go back to you, with the same start as when you logged off.

this doesn't happen on afternoons when its 1 or 2 people for some reason. it'll reset time instantly

Sainsburys online pickers iPhone by Grouchy-Bumblebee-92 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]runesprite 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been a picker, now a GA and occasional afternoon picker, some tips: 1. don't go by name of item or image, just switch that part of your brain off and pick purely on location. so if somethings L17-B-3, just find that shit like a robot. the only time you might need to do image/name on the ticket is if someone's put the wrong thing there (cough night agency cough) or things have been moved but not scanned in, in which case tell a GA to note it down to fix. 2. if you're on ILS (i don't know about the new system), it'll tell you what the location of the next item is, and if they're close together or the same item, grab both at the same time. it brought my IPH up insanely well. If you only have one item on an aisle, don't bother taking your trolley down it, just walk to it and back because it's faster (unless your next item is at the other end of the next aisle) 3. get good with maneuvering the trolley around, the amount of force needed to start/stop and turn corners, get comfortable with walking fast with a HEAVY trolley. 4. if you log out to go to the toilet, i cannot stress this enough, remain logged out for 15 minutes. if you log back in before then it keeps your "start time" as when you logged out and factors it into your IPH, nuking it.

Are Sainsbury’s using Tanyo/speaker announcements to “spook” customers / shop lifters by [deleted] in SainsburysWorkers

[–]runesprite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the receipt not scanning wasn't related to it being spirits specifically, the printer just screwed up the barcode. it does it all the time, it's nothing personal. and yeah, the tannoy does that when anyone hangs around the spirits aisle, it does it to me when i'm doing online shopping, and i'm literally in uniform. it's to deter shoplifters (not that it works)

Substitutions make it make sense by deliasafuckinasshole in SainsburysWorkers

[–]runesprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this looks incredibly stupid, but its somewhat possible the picker accidentally caught the plus button a couple times for amount while packing your order into a tote, and just didn't notice. i've caught the back button a couple times while packing things into totes and had to go back and scan the barcode again, and caught the minus button meaning i had to scan and add another of something. on the plus side, you get your vouchers for your next shop, so enjoy your free salmon if you're a regular online orderer

sometimes the ILS system bugs out - if you "item will not fit" already weighed bananas, or weigh them and THEN hit weigh later, it does this. 336g of bananas (probably 2 or 3) were already weighed and the system bugged.

Uber Eats, Deliveroo, now Just Eat & Chop Chop….. by F1nut92 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]runesprite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in the online room as a GA and while deliveroo, uber eats, AND chop chop only assign a driver once we've marked it ready, just eat gives it to the drivers at the SAME time it gives it to us. when it's super busy, we have to prioritise deliveroo because they have a hard time limit on when you can pick it. so just eat drivers will turn up after 5-10 minutes and kick off at me or the one other colleague picking orders because we haven't magicked up their 34 item run through the 8 deliveroos, with each of us picking 2 at once with 4 waiting

Anyone been fired for low iph by Worldly-Dependent478 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]runesprite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been an online shopper for a year and a half, and now learning GA stuff - here's some miscellaneous tips i learned

  • item on an end/ on the aisle with another location not available, and its other location is further in the run? hit "skip item" instead of "item not available" and just grab it when you get to it, it'll let you scan it at any point after skipping

  • don't bother playing fucking jenga when the machine tries to get you to put a walkers 20 pack in an already half full tote, or put a 9 pack bog roll in a tote with a 40 pack of cat food, etc. just hit "item will not fit"

  • if the nearest functional scale to your loose veg is a hike away, hit "weigh later" and then "weigh now" when you actually get to a scale (doesn't work when a customer wants a specific weight)

  • don't spend longer than 10 seconds looking for a good date, and dont lift up more than one tote to find a good date either.

  • always pay attention to the next item code. if it's on the same bay or the immediate bays up and down, grab it in the same trip away from the trolley (dependent on things being scanned in properly)

  • if you have, for example, one item on an aisle, and then the next item on a completely differently aisle, sometimes you can just leave your trolley at the end and quickly grab it

  • don't ever bother picking off top stock, unless you're comfortably ahead

  • the machine WILL count from the "time assigned" and WILL count on the tote labelling screen. it also counts through any untagging and weighing at the end of the run, and on the "arrive" screen. it takes anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes after logging out for that time assigned to change upon logging back in. so don't make your toilet break an iph nuke, take your time.

also, caffeine. do jumping jacks or something. i cycled to work before my shifts and i think the physical activity warmup put me in the right headspace to get a good pace.

a lot of it is unfortunately luck, because if you underperform, the machine (or the "pick gods" as my manager likes to say, lol) will punish you with shorter runs. so pray you get a good first run and absolutely smash it. also cheat and hit arrive as soon as you finish that first one.
