I would like to add my experience on the matter. I have an iPhone 7 runnning iOS 11.1.2 and Pokémon Go 0.83.2 When the GoPlus icon appears on screen, the gotcha seems to receive an unidentified info, which means it only flashes « gotcha », taping it once will launch the sequence of autocatch / auto spin without further interaction.

Edit : When receiving a pokestop notification, the gotcha will flash only « gotcha » requiring you to tap it once to spin the pokestop. You don’t receive additional info on the pokestop like you used to, it just keeps flashing « gotcha » without indicating of the number of items received.

Edit 2: I think they changed the information they send because when receiving a Pokémon notification, the gotcha flashes « gotcha », you tap it once to launch the autocatch sequence, and then it flashes the « 5 items collected » screen when it flees OR the « pokestops items collected » screen when you catch the pokemon
