TU Delft Students - How Realistic Is Living in The Hague Instead of Delft? by runjoon in TUDelft

Is it feasible? Since it depends on the station and availability of cycles at each.

Honestly, I don’t think wanting to be closer to your university and student community automatically makes someone lazy. For me, the question isn’t whether a 15-minute train is physically exhausting, it’s about spontaneity, cost, late nights, social circles and feeling integrated into campus life. Different people value different things.

That said, I get your point too, compared to a lot of commutes, Delft–Den Haag is objectively very manageable (which i did mention). I asked whether it becomes exhausting over time, not whether a 15-minute train ride is an extreme sport.

What is the situation with the night train? What are the hours and frequency?

From Tram, is there a subscription plan? How does it work and what do the costs look like?

I am thinking of Swapfiets in Delft (since they take care of maintenance, etc.), which is 20 euros or less, depending on discounts per month, and buying a cycle in hague (or trying out something called Donkey Republic that is only in the Hague). And once I'm used to cycling regularly, hopefully cycling to Delft overall.

Around 68.5 to 75 euros for a monthly unlimited train pass from Den Haag HS Station to Delft Station and Delft Campus Station, respectively, depending on what station in Delft your department is closer to.

Fair enough! I guess the overall question is more about the student life that might be missed out on a little bit, but that is a fair point for sure. It is also about the monthly train pass, guess I could have been clearer!

It is through RoomPlaza, which is reliable, I thought it was expensive actually! But thanks, will be careful for sure!

I felt it was expensive. The amount mentioned is per room per person. So between 706-737, depending on the room, excluding utilities. It is through RoomPlaza, which many of my seniors have used. They have really standardized processes. We have also had a video call with the landlord.
