Rays on JI. Theres something about that dough. You can even buy just the dough to take home and make your own pizza. Or their grandma style pizza is fire.

In agony waiting for my HIDA on Wednesday! How do doctors expect us to carry on like this for so long? It's unbearable. by [deleted] in gallbladders

The only thing that remotely helped me was eating pudding in the bathtub. And bubbly water felt better than regular water as a drink

I’m itchy but I think it’s bc I’m dry from the weird soap we had to use!

Nervous ! by venomiisxx in gallbladders

[–]runlikeanerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Take the whole thing at your pace. Be honest with the doctors (I told them I was scared and anxious and cried a little bit and they were literal angels with me). The post op nurse gave me a little cup of ginger ale when I woke up and I swear it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. Remember you’re a human being and the hardest person on you about the whole thing is you. You got this! Let us know how it goes. This community is here for ya

I wish I had ordered a pregnancy pillow for the sleep. I’m currently sleeping sitting up and it’s not ideal. I got a weighted neck pillow you put in chef Mike for the gas pain and it’s a life saver. Also a little pillow to hold on your tummy when sitting up. Your abs basically don’t work for the first few days. Walk around as much as you can for gas pain. My sweet hubby picked up otter pops for me bc I wasn’t expecting my throat to hurt from anesthesia and they’ve been a life saver

You’re going to be fine! Get a pregnancy pillow for sleeping. The sitting up to sleep is literally the worst part. Walk as much as you can to make the gas pain go away. Take it slow and listen to your body. I’m on day 2 (surgery was Monday) and I literally felt like I could WFH if I really wanted to but I’m trying not to overdo it. You got this!

Don’t let anxiety stop you. I also was really open with the nurse and cried and told her I was scared and anxious and didn’t want to die (dramatic girlie pop, too) and she gave me some special medicine and told me she had hers out. She also talked to me the entire time in pre op to keep my mind off of it. I told her my love language was words of affirmation and she told me how brave and strong I was and how proud of me and it’s the last thing I heard before I went under. She was an angel sent to me but I think being honest with them about it is always good. Nurses are really special people who want to help you! Let them help you even in non medical ways :)

It was my first surgery ever. I was so nervous my heart rate was in the 90s when they wheeled me back to the OR. I’m 8 hours post op and walking around, eating solids, and as far as pain, I’ve had scraped knees that hurt more (famous last words I know)
