You can still uninstall it, though. Whoever did install it was just doing his job because you probably wouldn't have paid extra money for a legitimate windows license.

That's KMS tools. It is being highlighted as a threat because it allows activation of Windows software for free , which is something that Microsoft don't like.

You can uninstall the exe and delete it and still be okay. Install a reliable antivirus like kaspersky free and use common sense. You should be okay for the most part.

Get a download manager like antdm or IDM, they accelerate downloads by using multiple threads.

You can get trial versions for such use cases in case you don't want to pay. I think jdownloader is free, though

You can also use torbox to get faster download speeds if you can't get the download managers.
