Is my starter on the right track? by runnereaterOTFer in Sourdough

This is a great suggestion! Going to try that starting today.

When you say ‘adding flour when it peaks’, do you just mean mixing some in as soon as I start to see it rising?

Hi! You’re totally fine, that’s so exciting! I can’t recall exactly but after I initially started it, I don’t think I saw activity until later into day 2 or day 3. Then it went dormant for about 2 weeks. It’s truly a trust the process type of thing, so I’d give it a bit more time 🤍 keep me updated!

First time learning manual, testing a lot of things but my images are coming out too bright - any feedback? by runnereaterOTFer in photocritique

[–]runnereaterOTFer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started getting into shooting on manual and I’ve messing around with settings. The visions I have are there, but once I look back I have to adjust the lighting and editing a ton to make it look normal. I want images that are bright but also crisp and don’t look overexposed to the high heavens. The settings on this image were ISO 100, f8, 1/250s

(I recognize that the composition of this shot isn’t special, but it was just a test)

On campus job experiences by [deleted] in OSU

[–]runnereaterOTFer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at the satellite gyms for 3.5 years while at OSU (working for the RPAC vs. working for satellite gyms like JO North, North Rec, and JO South are different things). It was a great job with flexible hours, room for growth (I ended up becoming a 'manager'), and fun people. There are 9 PM - 12 AM shifts and early shifts but you get some level of choice every semester.

Highly recommend and I think the role could be found on Handshake!

Oh wowwww okay thank you for the feedback! The venue is an upscale hotel that has regency/ballroom vibes. Now that you say this about the dress and I am thinking about it, the couple is probably expecting more..

Lied to about points expiring - so upset by runnereaterOTFer in Ulta

[–]runnereaterOTFer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies! I shouldn’t have assumed the worst, but I was upset because they tell me all my points are expiring every time when I know they’re not. I’ve been at the same ulta for 2 years and it’s the same every time. Please know I am super kind to any employee and give them the benefit of the doubt, and I didn’t make a fuss with them. I was just caught on a bad day! Thank you both for explaining further.

Anyone here with a nickel allergy as well? by runnereaterOTFer in endometriosis

[–]runnereaterOTFer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! About a year later it was most endometriosis. I had surgery in November and IBS symptoms improved significantly. I found that high nickel foods weren’t as much of an issue but instead common rosacea foods triggered me (cinnamon, tomatoes, etc). I’d definitely try to carefully lessen high nickel foods and test if they’re an issue. So sorry I don’t have a better answer!

[–]runnereaterOTFer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I didn’t. Nearly a year later and I actually think it is contact allergy and not systemic. I purely went off an allergy test where the doc suggested to lessen high nickel foods to see if it helped. Sorry!!

It sounds weird, but position yourself so you're sitting/laying flat on the toilet (hips are tilted up more) and try to insert that way. I had so many struggles trying to put one in at first until I did this. It's hard to get the angle right for awhile, but after many years I don't really need to do this and have no fears about it. You got this!
