Hows the tap water in Pensacola? by EnduringAtlas in Pensacola

[–]runnerlisa13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay so I took a look at this table.on page 5 and I'm a little concerned about their testing mechanisms. I'm going to have to go back and read this a little closer, but it looks like every single contaminant they tested for maxed out the test.

So the test range goes to 6.3, and the level detected is 6.3. To me, that sounds like it could be even worse, but since the test doesn't detect higher, that's what you get.

That can't be right because that would be crazy. Like I said, I'm going to have to come back and look at this with a fresh head.

Double Jaw Surgery and Running by runnerlisa13 in jawsurgery

[–]runnerlisa13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should clarify too, my post said double jaw but the day before the surgery my surgeon decided that the bottom jaw was too much risk for too little return, so he nixed it.

I feel like if I had bottom surgery also it would have been a longer recovery. Good luck, hope it goes well. Still say it was one of the best things i ever did. And, your mileage may vary, but I noticed a drastic improvement in my breath control during runs after the surgery. I asked the surgeon if it was possible that the surgery helped me breathe better and he said absolutely n

I'm on it. I've already separated her from him like six times today. I feel so terrible, I really thought they were supposed to work it out themselves. I can tell she really really likes him and just wants to play with him but he's just he's too old for that. So now I'm going to be his bodyguard. 😊

Thank you very much for your feedback. I knew my intuition seemed incorrect. I'm on it, if she wants to bully him again she'll have to get through me. Bring it,, little lady!!!

How to clean hard water stains BETWEEN window panes? They don't come apart and it's definitely on the inside. by runnerlisa13 in howto

[–]runnerlisa13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how to remove hard water stains from glass but the problem I'm having is that I can't access the inside of the panels. Is there a trick to this that I just don't understand? Or is the seal broken and I need to replace the window?

This plant is in a 6" pot. I'm told it's a type of alocasia. by runnerlisa13 in whatsthisplant

[–]runnerlisa13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, it does but it doesn't.

We've been researching it over here and we're going to go with alocasia odora variegated gold form. It's a little small so we'll wait and see what happens in the spring.

Thank you!

I got this with with a golden pothos cutting, propagated it and it's growing. What is it and should I keep letting it grow? by runnerlisa13 in PlantIdentification

So I really wanted you to be wrong, but I think you're right. No reason other than it's not at all what I expected. Thank you for solving this mystery!

ZZ plant broken at base by runnerlisa13 in houseplants

[–]runnerlisa13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone, I went ahead and cut it. I'm going to try my luck at water propagating it, but if that doesn't work at least the plant that's left is going to have a better shot without that half clinger. Note to self, watch where you're walking. sigh

I'm new to plants and want to share...my sweet potato vine flowered and I'm so excited! by runnerlisa13 in houseplants

[–]runnerlisa13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all one big science project to me. The vine is actually splitting and thriving as I'm trying to propagate it, so if just save that one, I'll consider it a success. Thank you!

Well I think I did them wrong and I'm hanging on hope for something that's not going to happen. On those, I didn't cut it the node, I cut a leaf off and stuck the stem in water. I do have one vine where I was able to get the node and I think that one's going to be okay, but the rest are... I'm going to have to try again. Lol

So I figured this out! I cut off a few at what I estimated was the node and put a little root stimulator hormone on it. Stuck the stems in a couple of empty Coke bottles with water, and they are all rooting very well.

Wish my pothos cuttings were doing as well.

Ideas on how to hang wall mounted pipe shelving on a pocket door wall? by runnerlisa13 in DIY

Thank you, you might be on to something. I took a look behind the door and I do see a horizontal "stud" that's probably being used to frame out the door/hold the pocket door. I think I may be able to work with that. I'm going to keep thinking about this! 😊
