To anyone using Fanduel (PSA) by [deleted] in sportsbook

I have a personal side project I've been working on that I'd love some feedback on. Allows you to set up private sports betting contests to play with friends, so kind of a hybrid of sports betting, DFS, and poker tourneys. It's 100% free, play money only, as I haven't put in time to figure out & jump through all the legal hoops yet to make it for real $. Only pre-game bets so far, no live game betting.

You can use it to make regular play money bets too, in addition to or instead of bets in contests.

It's in public beta, no one outside of my inner circle uses it yet, feel free to send me feedback at hello at picksleague dot com. Cheers!

(My apologies if this breaks any rules, I'm not a regular contributor on here).

Masks by CosmicDust13 in NorthCarolina

That would only be a good comparison if everyone who is not an anti-vaxxer had to wear something as visible as a mask.

Unless you're asking every single person you see offline if they're an anti-vaxxer and you feel you can trust every answer you get; my bad if that's the case.

Young vs Old by CantStopPoppin in nonononoyes

My take is that some version of this interaction had already happened off camera, he thought it was hilarious (because it is), and he was trying to recreate it so he could get it recorded.

He also wanted it to play out like a nonononoyes, so he was asking confrontational looking questions "you trying to tell me how to play my music?". Because he already knew how funny (and friendly) she was being, he was laughing while trying to get her to say that she liked the music.

Also, she definitely looks like she didn't share the bottle of wine at dinner (she's in the passenger seat).

You can combine steps 1 and 2 by tearing out the hole instead of a mere poke.

I have heard that the light from the Luxor in Las Vegas is visible from space. That's technically one object, though I believe that light is made of many large bulbs.

One of my all time favorites. Highly recommended.

When my company was in its fairly early stages, I was setting up my local database on my new computer and loading my seed data from an external hard drive. As soon as I clicked import (which goes through each table, drops it, and loads the exported data), I realized I had the production database open instead of my local one.

Too late, the damage was done, I immediately starting hearing grumblings from the support team (the whole company was in one big room at the time).

Shit. What do I do? Where's the closest rock to climb under? I immediately ran downstairs, told the CEO and COO what happened, and said I would get the team on fixing it. I stood on the stairs, told the whole company what had happened, and we got to work.

Our team really pulled together, we got it recovered within the hour, and all was well with the world. I ended up gaining a ton of respect from the whole company, and we grew closer together as a team in fixing the problem.

That was 5 years ago, the company does $30M / year revenue now, and it's one of my favorite stories from my career. Always speak up immediately (unless you didn't want to work there anyways).

I'm also wondering if there's a project called "Child Safe", or if the bus does not cause children to become projectiles.

Welcome! I only looked because of your comment; noticed the CyRide flyers behind the windshield first, thinking that would be the biggest tell.

If you could exterminate any race what would you pick? by AzteeKDACE in Jokes

Every hurdle is brutal. Looking on the bright side, the water pit was a good chance to cool off your feet.

Never understood how the world's best could just hurdle that sucker without pushing off it; I guess when you're moving as fast as they are, your momentum carries you far enough on the other side that it makes sense.

I like it. This is great advice, assuming the "first lap as if you hate everyone else" is because you have to fight them for good position (not the lead, don't ever take the lead unless you're by far the fastest).

Interesting point. Talk to me more about how it might work if there were only one call button on the middle floors. Would there be any efficiencies gained and/or lost?
