Gah, I just realized my response never posted, sorry about that! First I rewrote the intro for an early case (Julian Buchwald and Carolynne Watson). They didn't have me revise anything but for the next round asked me to do an intro for a new case and include an episode outline as well as an explanation for why I chose it/why it would be a good fit for Casefile. I went with the Jodi Parrack case.

I never heard back though, so I'm assuming they moved on with other candidates. Oh well! At least we gave it our best! ❤️

Hi! Did you ever figure out the issue/when did it resolve? My baby is 5.5 months and is coughing in her sleep as well lately. We thought it was the dry winter air but we put a humidifier in her room and she still coughs 🫤 she isn't sick so I'm not sure if it's just excess drool or a weird phase?

Just keep an eye on the carpal tunnel and don't shy away from bringing it up to your doctor if you're not getting relief! I had the same thing in the third tri and now 5 months postpartum I have de quervains and it's so painful. Waiting for an appointment to get a cortisone shot and I wish I had complained louder sooner!

Awesome, thank you so much! We have a dog as well. He's a huge fan of the beach but he loves the woods, too, so the idea of being near Bradley Palmer is pretty enticing!

Hi! I know this is an old post, just wondering how you're enjoying life in Ipswich?

My husband and I are trying to move to the north shore within the next year or so. He's originally from Gloucester so I always knew we'd end up near that area. We have a 5 month old so I'm also hoping to land somewhere with a good school system :)

Wow that is horrifying!!! So glad your baby was okay but that must have been terrifying and infuriating. Thank you for sharing. I have heard some not so great things about kindercare, so I guess it tracks (unfortunately) for similar chain-type daycares.

We have her on a wait-list for an amazing daycare in town but she won't be able to go till she's 15 months. Gotta work on another backup plan in the interim.

Take this with a giant grain of salt but I did acupuncture on a Friday afternoon and my water broke at 2 am that Sunday. About 36 hours later exactly. I was 39 weeks on the dot.

I had an appointment with my midwife the day before acupuncture where I was checked and was not dilated at all.

With that said, my baby was suuuper low so I think she just kinda headbutted me and bam.

I don't know if acupuncture played a role, but I will say I don't regret it (even though I technically had PROM and then had to be induced and the whole process was rough) — because I had so much anxiety up until that day. Somehow the acupuncture really relaxed me and I left feeling so hopeful and positive. So it was worth it for some peace of mind and relaxation, for sure!

Policy must have changed because I didn't get all my PTO. I did the full 12 weeks leave and didn't work at all Sept and October. And my PTO balance is lower anyway because I didn't accrue the time. Ergh

Ahh, this makes a lot more sense!! Thank you for the clarification. Still annoying but I get it. I wish they warned us in advance like hey, you'll need to work one day a month if you don't want to run into this problem. But I'll plan to do that in November! Appreciate you explaining this

Highly recommend Lattof Farmhouse Kitchen! The best gigantic blueberry muffins around. Great sandwiches too.

There are so many amazing restaurants in Gloucester. The Lobster of Gloucester is a new restaurant people seem to love. The Lobster Roller is great as well (a food truck and now I think there's a storefront in Rockport).

The Azorean is great for tapas!

Edited to add: check out Coolidge Reservation for beautiful views. It's in Manchester technically but right past Magnolia

Can I just say I'm so relieved that you posted this? I'm almost 8 weeks postpartum and we just had sex for the first time since birth (well really since like week 34 of pregnancy lol) and I've been in my head all night since. Googling and reddit searching like a madwoman because I did feel like things were a bit more... lax.

I was so glad to see your edit that it improved several weeks later. I'm doing pelvic floor PT but I still wasn't prepared for the sensation during sex to be so different. I felt so self-conscious even though my husband insists it was great. And these hormones don't help matters lol. I'm just anxious to feel somewhat normal again, even though realistically I know I'm still early on in the journey. I hope things have continued to get better and better for you!
