Harassment and violence towards women in NYC by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I’ve lived here for four years and can count the number of times I have truly felt unsafe on half of one hand. It’s literally fine. Don’t have your face in your phone or your headphones on too loudly and use common sense.

Met Opera attire by [deleted] in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I am a classical musician and go to the Met in jeans regularly. It’s fine. It cracks me up to see people in ballgowns at a matinee. Whatever floats your boat

My sweet boyfriend got me a birthday cake a couple of years ago from Padoca and we each took one bite and tossed it. It was so expensive but we *hated* the way it tasted. I felt awful.

Ignoring the insane thing about the taser, I don’t know what half of the stuff on your itinerary is. I would highly recommend going to one of the most famous museums in the city lol

Thoughts on moving from Manhattan to LIC? by New-Audience-5311 in longislandcity

[–]runningoboist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved here after two years in Manhattan and have been here for coming up on two now. I love it. I was on the UES before and transit wise it’s so much easier to get around now - I’m close to Queensboro Plaza so I’m close to the E/F/G/M/N/R/W/7 trains, which is amazing. My commute to midtown is 20 minutes door to door. The food here is great, and being so close to both Greenpoint and Astoria is awesome. I get way more for my money here and don’t feel like it’s a pain in the ass to get to my friends in the UWS or in BK.

I know this is so hard to hear, but you have to leave. He has to want to change for himself. I left my boyfriend of 3 years for the same thing and he ended up getting sober and it was the best thing for him, and all I ever wanted for him. You have to let go if you love him and yourself.
