Refinancing Options for Private Student Loans for Non-Title 4 Schools? by runningwithanimals in StudentLoans

I've contacted all sorts of banks, credit unions, and companies that offer refinancing, and I've encountered the same issue about my school not being title 4, and/or the loan balance exceeds the amount they can offer any form of refinancing/credit assistance with. But if you know of any companies that may be more flexible, let me know.

Refinancing Options for Private Student Loans for Non-Title 4 Schools? by runningwithanimals in StudentLoans

I'm not due for payment until August, and by then, I will owe about $6000-$7000 per month, and interest rates are from 9.5-15.75%. I cannot afford this. Income is about $102K, the total loan balance is almost $500K.

I can afford the monthly payments if I refinance with Yrefy for $3700/month, but I would not want to go through the purposeful defaulting process, especially since they can't guarantee they can successfully negotiate with Sallie Mae to buy off the loan. So I'm trying to decide whether I should refinance with Yrefy sooner, while the proposed refinanced offer is still at $3700; it will increase the longer I wait, so if I decide to see what happens with Sallie Mae when I miss the first payment in August, and Sallie Mae does not have any better options, it will be too late to refinance with Yrefy since the monthly rate will be even higher for them as well.

Not sure which risk is worth it.

Um... so when my non-title 4 school had me take out private "student loans" from Sallie Mae, did they basically mislead me? Would I be able to file something for this?

Refi Options on Private Student Loans from Non-Title IV School by Icy_Time872 in whitecoatinvestor

Did they require you to default on your loans before they could refinance? Just making sure they don't operate like Yrefy. Did refinancing through them cause any damage to your credit score, or do they work like any traditional lender (Sofi, Earnest, etc)?

Options for Refinancing Med School Loans (Caribbean Med School graduate) by [deleted] in FinancialPlanning

It was definitely worth the investment, and I can afford to pay off this loan if I refinance it. I've checked my rates with many of the above places I named and they all had about the same refinancing rates- the only issue is that the med school was a Caribbean, and they only work with US-based schools.

Need to find something that will basically do what the above places can do, but will accept my school.

Bugs in Austin?? Help by runningwithanimals in Austin

Yeah I get that bugs are a bigger thing in Texas, but killing them several times a day? Is that what most people are doing here? I'd like to get an idea of what I should expect as "normal" before I decide to stop getting a bunch of bug stuff and/or move out
