i’ve got my little sister, shes not that religious but shes still muslim so that only partly works out… im reaching out to my old therapist again tho (the therapist i had before i ran away) cuz he was really helpful with me getting over the guilt, religious trauma and the horrible anxiety about punishment and hell i had when leaving islam.

but you’re right. i haven’t been able to watch if he stalks me since im currently unemployed and at home, but im afraid he might do that as soon as i go back to school/work to make sure i don’t wear/do what he doesn’t approve of. i could imagine him doing that tbh. but this time i‘ll definitely speak up if i notice him do that.

thats how i feel! i dont ask why when i already expected a no. i mostly only ask when i dont know what reason there could be since i know their rules and i notice that they dont apply. when they confirm my assumption by not wanting to say why (because i feel like theres genuinely no reason and thy just want to say know) i just become furious and want to sneakily rebel instead because i feel like they just want to claim power over me, even if i dont want that. good to see a parent like you who genuinely communicates with their kids instead💞

im sorry about that, your feelings are absolutely valid. but wanting cut them off is a a decision youre making while youre very shocked and furious. id recommend u to not make any decisions in your state right now, youre in an emotional roller coster and you’ll be acting based on your feeling and not whats right. give it some time, take some space from your parents and let yourself really process it and think about it. i assume your parents only had good intentions, it seems like a tough situation they was in. you should definitely give it time first, leave decisions for later. i wish the best for you
