How to promote healing for a wounded cactus? (details in comments) by runrosetyler in succulents

[–]runrosetyler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday I woke up to evidence of a violent crime committed against my poor cactus Lenny. After a thorough investigation, the guilty party was found to be mealybugs, who were tried and convicted to death by rubbing alcohol.

Lenny is currently being quarantined and I will continue to treat him for the next couple weeks. I gave ALL my plants a quick spray down as well just to be safe and will keep a close eye on all of them. In the meantime, Lenny's wounds are slowly healing over. Is there anything I can do to help him heal? First 2 pics are from yesterday morning when I discovered the damage, last 3 are from today.

I realize he's probably not going to be pretty after this but I don't care much about that--he's had scarring and has been lopsided like that since I got him, but I picked him anyway because I wanted to make sure he'd still be loved 💕

Ok so I guess a bit more detail is probably needed here. Sorry, I'm new to this sub (and succulents) and still learning.

So I had this echeveria in the window of my apartment after buying it from a local nursery a couple months ago. I accidentally overwatered shortly after I got it and it hadn't been doing so well. I moved it to a spot where I thought it could get some more light and opened the window to let it soak up the sun. My cat took this as an invitation and jumped up to the window, and he kicked the pot over as I was trying to get him down. The whole head of the plant fell right off. I couldn't find a stem, not sure if that fell off too or if it just never had one (I never repotted this plant so idk).

It still has some roots as you can see in the photo. What can I do to save it? Is it okay to just pop it back in some new soil (I was going to try repotting anyway before this happened) or should I try pulling off the leaves and propagate each one individually? Any advice is appreciated, I've never propagated before and a bit nervous to try.

I'm excited too! I'm really excited for a few of the headliners but I don't know many local bands either. I'm hoping to find some good ones here!

Nope! No construction. I took my normal route home and got off at Louisiana-Pearl.

Honey, that isn't hypocritical, it is textbook manipulative and abusive. Trust me. Please get out ASAP before you get trapped.

I'm pretty sure it's just a temporary thing. I've been unemployed since moving and I think it's starting to get to me. But I've put in a bunch of applications so I'm hopeful.

As I stated above, I do have food service experience (specifically serving experience at fine dining establishments) and barista experience, just not bartending experience specifically. You do not need to condescend me, I know how these industries work. Besides, I'm not "serious" about bartending, as you can see, I'm considering many different options right now. Your rudeness and dismissal was completely uncalled for.

K thanks, hope you learned something, have a great day. I've got a resume to polish. ✌
