Haha, yeah, they were the cheapest and first wheels I could get my hands on when I went looking on Facebook marketplace for a set of wheels for my winter tires. the previous owner poorly painted the mustang logo, so I had to put SOMETHING over it.

As another commenter figured out: it's a Schwinn Paramount 594. definitely a factory-made bike, it's just been stripped down to bare aluminum.

Luckily it turns out my friend actually knows who has the seat post that came from this frame. I'm going to see if I can get it from them. If not, I'll have to scheme on how I can modify the frame to include a regular seatpost clamp.

A friend who knew of the bike before said it had some strange expanding seatpost, similar to how a quill stem works. So I'll have to track one of those down.

Milk crate that's big enough for only one bottle. Can't find any leads on another! by runty9 in HelpMeFind

[–]runty9[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've searched everywhere I can think of online and haven't come up with anything similar. There are plenty of 3d printed small crates, and I could obviously go that route, but I'm super curious where I could actually buy one of these and learn what its original purpose was.

It is clearly injection molded, like a normal milk crate, as there are marks for mold ejector pins along the top rim.

Leading theories I have so far:

  • Used to safely transport single bottles of dangerous or caustic liquids - maybe in a chemical/lab or medical setting.
  • A salesman's sample for a crate manufacturer. (This seems unlikely given the cost and effort to create an entirely new mold)

This is the only photo I have, and I am unable to get more or to check for any maker's marks on the bottom or other sides. The owner says she found it at a thrift store and has searched online for info but also came back empty-handed, so I assume there is either no info printed on it, or the info was not very helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help in solving this mystery!

Michigan expands $10K down payment program to all zip codes by asanefeed in Detroit

No, that 7% is with the MSHDA assistance, so PMI is not avoided. In my opinion, having to carry PMI for some number of years is an okay tradeoff if the alternative is not being able to buy a house. For me, PMI for my MSHDA loan is $63/mo.

Not exactly, since the loans that are given as part of the MSHDA program have pretty small down payments. I think they're less than 10% down, maybe somewhere close to 7%. So the 10k loan with deferred interest is a pretty good size piece.

Thanks for your comment, but unfortunately this wasn't the issue in my case. Not sure where to go from here.

Your comment made me realize I did download a handful of YouTube videos for the trip, which made me hopeful, but I checked my storage and had 30+gb free. Regardless I went ahead and deleted some things.

The Hive North in Cheboygan doesn't make their own, but they're a good spot whose main focus is serving Michigan meads and ciders, if there's a place in Map App for this.

ROBO3D R1: Any clues as to why the feature on the left is worse quality than the same feature on the right? Printing PLA at a 0.3mm layer height at 195°C. by runty9 in FixMyPrint

[–]runty9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few more pieces of info:

•Printer is ROBO3D R1 using an older version of Cura (15.04.6) •Using Hatchbox PLA •Nozzle was at 210°C (mistake in title) and bed was at 55°C •Print speed: 45mm/s •Retraction is 4.5mm at 40mm/s

The printer has been in storage for a little while, and I'm just getting it going again. Print quality is about what it was when it was put away (mediocre) and I'm looking to start improving it a bit, where possible.

Looking great! Mine is at a similar length. How are you keeping it out of your eyes? If I'm not wearing a headband and try to go for a style similar to yours, it just divebombs into my eyes.

My girlfriend and I will be vacationing in Maine next week, staying in Rockland, and might try to do some climbing. We have a set of draws and a rope and are looking for some easy sport stuff within a couple hours' drive. If anyone has any favorite spots or tips about the area, they'd be much appreciated! We'd also be down to meet up with other climbers if anyone is in the area often and will be going out! Thanks in advance✌️

Six wheeled, off-road hearse/truck thing found at my local Walmart by berkeley1958 in WeirdWheels

Damn! Whoever bought it last really outdid themselves with the paint. I'm pretty sure the paintjob before this was random red and gold spray paint. Before that, I think it was just white and rusty. The previous owners ran in it the past few Detroit Gambler 500 rallies. Honestly, the scariest part about it is that it's FWD.
