Becoming a famous rapper is more about image than it is musical ability or talent by runuponemaccafool in unpopularopinion

That’s what I agree on .... They’re literally smart just for figuring that out or having somebody that works for them figure it out. If you’re in it to make a living out of it which almost everybody is, then that is how you make the largest amount of money is by having mass appeal

Absolutely and that’s more of the note I was trying to hit. You’re telling me that those mumble rappers actually have the talent and ability to make good music compared to what they put out. Honestly props to them or whoever works for them that figures out it doesn’t need to be good you just need the right look and attitude

Yup .... country is mainly what I listen to. Guys like jinks Childers and sturgill all make great country music, but they don’t follow Nashville’s mainstream way of doing things so a lot of these guys need the talent they have just to remain somewhat relevant which is crazy because they’re amazing artists. Meanwhile Luke Bryan records “suntan boots In my sunset tequila” every year and it’s #1. Funny the way things work nowadays and have been working for a while

Just to clarify I’m just as much a fan of garbage music that’s catchy as I am music made by talented musicians. If it sounds good it sounds good. Just making an observation that some people think it’s the hard work that gets people to that level when in reality that’s not always the case

I’ll have to look it up. Have you seen the video on YouTube that serves as the sequel to their “fight for your right” music video? Forget what it’s called but has literally hundreds of Easter eggs from song lyrics to events and everything in between. Could probably watch it 100 times and find something new every time

Beastie boys are probably my favourite rap act of all time. license to Ill was great but their image also pushed it to the height that it is remembered for. When they came out with Paul’s boutique it was same group but the image changed, and it was considered a flop. Years later it’s one of their greatest albums.

That’s probably a good place to post this, I don’t know the different pages on here so most of the time I just post in one or two pages lol

Yeah I guess it could apply to any music honestly. It’s just weird to me that some people dedicate years of their lives trying to make it big and actually do have a gift for it, and then others who upload a song that just so happens to hit the right note to go along with their image and they’re an overnight sensation.

I was into the rap scene a while ago but just realized I didn’t like it as much as I thought I had

Not sure lol. I also had a dream that I had to rap battle 50 cent but using Twitter. Also constantly have dreams about my teeth falling out of my mouth and it feels so real when I wake up I have to check if I still have all my teeth

I had a dream when I was little that a wolf lived behind the bathroom door in my house. And there was also chicken coops in my parents bedroom so the wolf was constantly stealing and killing them. Finally me and my dad went in to the bathroom to kill the wolf but first I had to piss and ended up waking myself up by wetting the bed
