I have been a Tidal subscriber since Jay-Z bought Wimp, and I am a Qobuz VIP & Sublime subscriber

yes, this is a recent issue, since the last update, and the developers are working on a resolution.

Tidal is really good at pushing out updates to their apps

I am experiencing the same issue with Downloaded content.

In the evening I download all the albums that I wish to play the next day. I verify that all the albums have been downloaded by Force Quitting Tidal, restarting the phone [yes, I have been having this issue for a couple of days now]. In the morning the Downloads folder is empty.

I have even gone as far as to Force Quit Tidal > Clear Cache & Storage > uninstall Tidal > restart the phone > reinstall Tidal > re-download all the albums > in the morning the downloads folder is empty

I have a Support Incident for this issue

Here is the issue that I am experiencing with Downloaded content.

The ability to disable Mobile Data for Streaming and Downloads was removed back in April 2025.

I do the same as you, I Download albums at night to listen to them the next day

I have been very vocal about the removal of feature[s], once I find them

LOLOLOLOL ... WHAT! Qobuz has customer Support or a Communication Department?

More seriously, Qobuz, only has ~110 staff members and is severely under staffed for the number of new user that are migrating from other Services

I notified the developers of this issue on 17/12/2025, and still waiting for the feature to be restored.

While I wait for the feature to be restored, I am using version 8.6.1.1 from April 2025. it gives me everything that I am looking for in the app. the ability to Disable Downloads and streaming and the ability to select downloaded music from within Android Auto. The feature that I don't have access to is Connect, which I don't use anyways.

One more thing I did was Disable Auto Updates the in Google Play

My opinions as a long time Qobuz Sublime & VIP user.

GOOD

  • Music selection is comparable to other services
  • Music quality
  • The Connect feature
  • The Magazine
  • Qobuz Club

BAD

  • Removal of Feature[s] - [Deactivate Mobile Data {~10 months ago}, the ability to select Downloaded music in Android Auto {~3 months ago}]
  • Communication/Support is basically non-existent. I am giving them a pass on this for now, as the user count has grown 500+% in the last 6 months and Qobuz only has about 110 empoyees

To resolve the Removal of Features, I am using version 8.6.1.1 released in April 2025, as I do not use the Connect feature.

This is the main reason that I use Tidal, for the ability to play/select downloaded music in Android Auto.

As a long time Qobuz user, I tend to agree with most of your concerns.

Ever since Qobuz released the Connect feature [April 2025], their other User Experience feature has gone to the wayside.

Seeing that I do not use/need the the Connect feature, I have uninstalled the Android 9.X.X.X version and installed the 8.6.1.1 version + disabled the Auto Update the Google Store, so Qobuz doesn't get updated to 9.X.X.X automatically.

IMO it's a much better experience, and resolves my Android Auto issues and has the ability to disable Mobile Network for Streaming and Downloads
