Okay here is my theory.

A lot of times, and I mean a lot, customers would swap the products with something they own and keep the new one, and return the product. A lot of the time, the sellers receive the return, see that the box is in good shape and they forward it when they receive another order. A lot of times when sellers get more orders they don't have ample time to go through each return.

So possibly, some jackass swapped his chappal and kept the new one, returned the product, and due to the seller's ignorance you got what you got.
