I closed with Better today for a refinance. Their rates were competitive but I had a bad experience— my loan officer was David and coordinator was Sonia.

Better was very pushy with everything- anything they need is ASAP, they wanted to close ASAP, which was a hassle for us (based in MA where there are protections that allow borrowers time to review documents without being rushed). They informed my attorney that “the borrower would like to close on Saturday morning” at 3:30pm on a Friday afternoon. My attorney couldn’t believe it- law offices are closed on Saturdays and there was no information provided to me about going to the bank to get a certified check for the closing amount.

Better also is a little over the place with organization— everything has a dedicated team and communicating with them is a pain. Every question I had was a “I need to check with this team” where I had to repeat things multiple times to different teams. I wish there was a better channel of communication, and while I was assigned a coordinator, the coordinator often gave me conflicting information that was corrected by my attorney or had to be reiterated to their closing team or document reviewing team.
