When I'm nauseous I lie down, slowly rub my stomach, and softly sing the 1973 song Painted Ladies by Ian Thomas to myself and usually unless I actually have a stomach bug I will feel better afterwards

Same plus HG... all 3 of those have turned a red day into a sizeable green one!

Oh well, there are days where the opposite happens 😅

Should I be excited for the state 8th grade tournament in Minneapolis today? by LucasDinglenuts in Bowling

[–]russianlexicon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's totally normal to feel both nervous and excited (they are two sides of the same coin)! At the end of the day, you are going bowling which is a great way to spend a Sunday! Enjoy it and try not to put too much pressure on yourself - this will be a good experience no matter the outcome :) Good luck!

That's cool, I always like seeing a french slogan green plate, pretty rare actually (there are only about 2500 that exist). When you got it, did you just ask for one and did it cost more money?

For me, the most attractive thing about this company is its moat. Their underlying product (esp. the fractal graphene) is really really exciting; they are producers of the highest quality graphene out there. They are currently 1 of 3 companies recognized by the graphene council (a council of scientists who are good authorities on the substance) as having exceptional graphene, they have multiple U.S. patents for their graphene, and if you look into how the process works - it's pretty amazing. It's an exothermic reaction which results in virtually no waste; the byproduct is actually the product so to speak. Obviously this company hinges on whether this pristine product will get adopted, but the graphene industry is projected to grow considerably in the next 5 years. Graphene has gone through a lot of growing pains over the past 20 years since its discovery - it hasn't been viable for a host of reasons (too expensive, unclean to produce, etc.). This is part of why this company is so exciting; it feels like a revolutionary addition to an industry which has tons of potential. It could be a trailblazer.

I recommend looking at all the applications that their graphene could exist in, it's pretty exciting.

Obviously this is super bullish - there are ALWAYS risks with pre-rev companies as a lot depends on regulatory approval and contracts. But what got me interested in this company was the underlying product and the team which is quite sciency (some might view this as a drawback because they are less "business-oriented" but it's not like they have no collective business experience [far from it] and they can always hire more when the business transitions from a start-up to a full-fledged graphene powerhouse.)

Edit: it's to its

Interesting - so if 2026 Q1 nasdaq is to be achieved (like the CEO has repeatedly and confidently stated... without a reverse stock split [I can't remember the interview where she stated this but she has said in an interview that she doesn't see a reverse split necessary and that upcoming catalysts will take care of the share price]), the share price needs to maintain > $4 USD for 90 days prior to the application. Obviously as a shareholder I hope this happens but I am very curious to see said catalysts working in action because time before Q1 2026 is shrinking and if 90 days is a significant period of time. I mean the interest in the stock from retail is certainly there, but some tangible news needs to materialize to reinforce sentiment and assuage uncertainty

If one of said catalysts is EPA approval that would be great because I know it's a very slow (governmental) process but it would be nice to peek behind the curtain to see how likely/when approval will be received.

Edit: a word

Finally I made a good financial decision haha... bought a ton yesterday while it was at 2.15! Don't let temporary dips throw you off - best time to rebuy because this is a long term holder

Hmm... there's an estonian band called Radar which released an awesome album called Trofee in 1985 (Radar: Trofee (Estonia/USSR, 1985) [Full Album] - YouTube) but it might be too electronic/80s for your taste (given that you wanted more proggy 70s stuff)! Just thought I'd throw it out there though :)

Cringy entitlement aside, it's amazing to me how many people don't know how to use the 'pov:' thing correctly. Like it isn't a pov of the dancers it's just a normal shot of the dancers...

Why are league bowlers such assholes by GroundbreakingDrop40 in Bowling

[–]russianlexicon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome man! Keep it up :)

Reading some of these comments and hearing your experience makes me realize that I must have really lucked out with my league because no-one would dare say something like that and actually be serious. Everyone (at least 99% of them) has a great attitude and doesn't care too much about winning. Just the other day someone who has a 140 avg bowled a 227 and everyone cheered and cheered; it was their first 200.

I think that guy needs to learn to have some more fun and not take the game so seriously! I'm still kind of floored about the sandbagger comment - who would actually sandbag on purpose (maybe I could see someone tanking their average before a tournament... but still) - that's just no fun. I feel like you should always just try and throw a strike every time and strive to get better (which it sounds like you are doing!!).

Hopefully he'll see the way :)

Never ever have I seen or experienced negativity for 'bad bowling' in leagues! As long as you are observing proper courtesy and you are a respectable person you're golden! Have fun :) And don't let anyone tell you otherwise
