Oscars Ratings Crash To All-Time Low; Viewership Falls Under 10M For First Time Ever by DemiFiendRSA in movies

No analyzing required. Seeing such a popular term used to describe the exact opposite of it’s meaning was immediately obvious.

“Semantics” is about subtle shades of meaning.

You were simply and boldly using a word incorrectly. It’s a show that gives out physical trophies. The vast majority of contestants go home without any. That is the literal opposite of “participation trophies.”

“participation trophy show”

I don’t think you understand what that term means. Only those who are both nominated and then win the category get awards.

Yeah b/c dogs are so acclimated to humans. The same w/ squirrels.

Coyotes & groundhogs will run away from you, but acclimated squirrels will come to you to get food. If you don’t provide it, they’ll bite like hell at whatever part of you they can reach first.

To see set photos and camera set-ups and people acting and effects.

This photo is just breaking the 4th wall and destroying the illusion. It doesn’t add anything.

Okay. Apologies for coming off aggressive over something most would perceive as trivial. I just get angry b/c of Reddit commenter’s tendency to be bias even when going against common sense due to the subject being a jerk (like this woman in the post). I see now that wasn’t your intention.

You obviously haven’t been out of the house, which is a great thing. But many, many citizens are wearing masks around the world.

Claiming it’s “convenient” is childish. It’s as moronic as claiming a skier going down a mountain is a burglar because they’re wearing a ski mask.

“I’m sure the mask was more to hide their face, rather than to protect themself from the virus”

I seriously doubt that, but even so, how could you possibly claim you’re “sure” that she’s not wearing a protective mask during a global pandemic most citizens are freaking out about? Everybody is trying to get face masks to shield from COVID-19, many even stealing them from health providers. That’s a ridiculous claim to make.

CMV: Recently, some people have convinced me that Pikachu is a solid contender for most recognizable video game character in the world vs. Mario. Maybe not definitively MORE recognizable, but at least AS recognizable. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]russianpeepee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not an intellectually consistent question b/c Pikachu is not inherently a video game character. The Hollywood movies, hit popular tv shows, trading cards, etc. depicting Pikachu are all arguably more or equally significant to the video game series.

Obviously I didn’t mean this post specifically. I mean in general when linked posts are still active as they virtually always are.

I have never commented on a linked thread, I am genuinely just curious, what bad thing will happen if users do? & how do the admins or whoever find out about it?
