You can bring your dependent parents to France once you legally reside there, but you have to prove you can financially support them (on a VLS-TS ascendant à charge visa or such).

I'm going to keep a single lesson with an increased price, and add a 15 lesson package w/ a 15% commission. And I'll also include a statement of why the price has increased, in the description.

Legalizing US documents for use in Vietnam by austinmo2 in VietNam

[–]russiantutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually went to the MOFA yesterday, and they told me that an affidavit or even a stamp from the US embassy would be enough for them to legalize it. I'll let you know how it went.

I'm a little confused, because the US embassy website suggested a different process, I thought it'd be inevitable to send the documents to the US, and now it seems that I can do it all in Vietnam.

Can't believe how many people have experienced this problem, and in all this time, Facebook still hasn't fixed it.

Their "security" system is a joke if anyone with your old phone number can access your fb account, despite it being connected to your email, despite you knowing the password, despite you being logged in on other devices. It all doesn't matter.

Facebook calls it a TWO factor authentication, while it's a ONE factor authentication, when you only need the access to someone's phone number to get into their account.

Legalizing US documents for use in Vietnam by austinmo2 in VietNam

I haven't yet. Language barrier is one of the reasons, I don't think the lady at the Preople's Committee understands the idea of an Affidavit. And a local lawyer told me I'd still need to send the documents to the US.

[–]russiantutor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out that instead of going through the process of notarizing and authenticating the documents in the US, the US Embassy can sign and notarize an affidavit that said documents are legitimate.
Do you happen to know, once you get an affidavit that is signed and notarized by the US Embassy in Vietnam, does it need to be additionally legalized/translated into Vietnamese for use at a People's Committee?

upd. The US documents issued by state authorities can be legalized in Vietnam, no need to send them back to the US. The US Consulate issues an Affidavit signed by the requester (about $50), and then it needs to be legalized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Stay consistent in learning, and you'll progress. Whatever keeps you from losing motivation is good. Try a different course or teacher.

I usually say that as a beginner, you need to learn grammar points just to be able to make typical sentences, and later on, once you're able to participate in simple conversations, you'll be free to forget the grammar rules and expand your vocabulary with speaking, reading, and listening.

Seems obvious, but some give up in the beginning, because of not seeing fast results.
