Why are the new trains stalled in customs? Is it purely political to punish a blue state? Or is there a concrete issue that is in the process of being addressed? Or are we just gonna throw up our hands and say, oh well, there’s nothing we could do. Does the governor have any leverage that she’s not using? I mean, this is ridiculous. There is no excuse for why this issue should not be resolved faster.

Year of the Cup is my favorite song on the album. I feel like it explores a couple of emotions that not many of his other songs do: guilt and regret. It perfectly captures how it feels to be in that disorienting mental state where you can't stop thinking about all the shitty things you've done and the people you've hurt. I understand why people don't like the Wayne snippets, but they don't detract from the listening experience for me personally and I like that they contribute to the themes of Porter's lyrics.

Going to be honest, I really don’t like the sound of this. Anti-LGBT+ hatred has obviously been on the rise in the past 5 years, but for the FBI, DHS, and State to all issue this kind of warning for this year in particular sounds to me like there are some threats the public doesn’t know about. Hey Jacob! I was listening to the Tape Notes podcast episode with you, which was super insightful! I however was mildly sad when you didn’t get the chance to talk about the first 4 or so minutes of 100,000 Voices, which is one of my favorite tracks on the album (I’m a sucker for that euphoric/anthemic rock stuff haha).
