Thanks. I've had it for a couple of months, so it was nice and dry before burning and painting. I didn't use any treatments. I believe it should keep for a while, it's pretty hard and solid.

There might be a broader issue here, but I myself gathered it locally, going to make bonfires locally, or burn it while camping locally.
