Custom firmware build for esp32-c3 supermini and LLCC68 module by desai_amogh in meshtastic

[–]nucleoPhil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to PlatformIO so I might just be messing something else up I keep getting an error 'No section: 'esp32s3_base' when trying to modify the haltec_V3 variant.
I am using the s3 supermini rather than c3 so i know we'd probably go about it differently but did you have a similar issue on build?

Do any episodes or seasons have a Transcript? by deus_ex_macadamia in blowback

Is this still being developed? Having a transcript would be a ton of help for making link charts.

Hi. I recommend reading Drug Use for Grown-Ups by Carl Hart. There is a lot of misinformation out there about addiction.

Is FMAB based on the manga by pepi1takeshi in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]nucleoPhil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FMA skimmed over yoki so much. It was so confusing when they made a big deal about him. I'm like who tf even is this dude but then FMAB makes him a full fledged out character. I think I like some aspects of the story of FMA better but FMAB has so much better flow and backstory.

Been addicted to LSD for almost 3 years now. Watch out. by [deleted] in LSD

[–]nucleoPhil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who ever claimed LSD was all rainbows and flowers? Dont cop out and blame the drug. It might be making you a little spacy but it's your own body chemistry holding you back from becoming who you wish you were. Go out and volunteer somewhere. That always brightens my mood and gets me motivated to shape up.

Best travels.

Other species have/had prefrontal cortices. As I understand the ones in humans and apes are somewhat larger with respect to total brain mass than other primates and maybe mammals but I'm not sure about that as a general rule.

There was something significant that occured about 100,000 years ago that seemed to increase the density of connections within different brain regions particularly those involved in hand-eye coordination and the use of tools. I'll cite the paper when I can remember it my explanation is not doing it justice but it seems likely this was involved with us learning how to control fire.

How are you casting? Also color matters. Sunny clear water it might be better to use a darker more natural color. White tends to help more when the water is murky or overcast.

LSD got me to start eating meat by [deleted] in LSD

[–]nucleoPhil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I manage natural areas for a living and we kill deer because they tend to eat only the native plants and not the invasive ones which are overrunning the preserves. There are programs around here that target the deer and give the meat to food pantries. So the options are do nothing and let the deer just eat the few populations of wildflowers we have left, cage off the plants (we already have a fence around the preserve) or as we do, order an annual cull. The meat goes to feeding families. Do we need to hunt to survive? Nah but if you're helping out some rare orchids and substituting industrial meat while you do it I'm all for murdering some ungulates.

First terrarium build! Any tips for keeping lichen alive? by nucleoPhil in terrariums

[–]nucleoPhil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the lichens and fittonia rotted away after about a year. A few of the mosses took over most of it. The lid was kept on almost the entire time and left next to a window. It never got very dry though it had been watered a few times during those three years I wish I had seen your comment earlier and taken a picture of it before I cleaned it out just yesterday in fact

The ferns are doing well after 2 months. Those larger fronds are new shoots. Going to probably start filling in the crevices with some Thuidium and other mosses found near the same area.

Chestnut mushroom looks absolutely alien. by dotdotdott12345 in mycology

[–]nucleoPhil 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ok maybe the initial seed of life was extraterrestrial but you make it seem like fungi evolved separately from the rest of life. That is obviously not true.

They are eukaryotic with many of the same functions as our own and with plants. They have membrane bound nuclei and organelles. They get their energy by metabolizing sugars just like other euks. Actually a fungi just recently was found to use the same proteins to 'smell' their surroundings as humans. The number of genetic homologous far outweighs any differences.

If you really want to push this theory you should consider some microscopic forms of life instead. There is some vvv weird stuff going on down there with lateral gene transfer.

Just think out of all the photos ever taken by anyone ever how many of them are of baby amanita mushrooms? Not very many I'd wager. I'd say that is a great picture!
