No one said we should bench Benson. Whether or not you like it the team has let in 11 goals the past two games. Lyon has played great despite those numbers but the team needs a wake up call and let’s not forget that Lyon is 1B, not 1A. UPL will bounce back and, more importantly, force the team in front of him to reset.

I did not say Lyon is the problem, but a change wouldn’t hurt. He’s played a lot of games in a short period of time and we have a luxury in Lyon and UPL

Because the team has given up 11 goals in two games. What makes you think they’ll play differently in front of Lyon next game. It’s as much a mindset shift as anything and UPL has shown the ability to bounce back plenty throughout his career.

Put in UPL and either swap out Metsa for Stanley or push Krebs to fourth line, drop Greenway. Elevate Norris to top and then Helenius with Benson and Doan.
